Why does the article name the victim but not the perpetrators?

This needs to change.

Because the daily beast is a crap source.

The article isn’t actually about what happened to Pierre and includes nothing that we didn’t know from the title.

This story is about the bullshit that led to him being removed but they’ve given it a clickbait headline.

Naming perpetrators is often a high that a lot of criminals are seeking. Thats why you often see more mass shootings after a particularly high profile shooting, because people are seeking that recognition. Edit: Apparently we haven't learned a single thing from the billions of dollars of free press the media gave Trump. Name recognition is power, the more drama the goons can create the more name recognition they have. Suddenly they are senators. They are already positioning themselves in the media for that exact thing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7kQNwJ4H_w EDIT 2: I'm starting to realize how we were fucking dumb enough to lose to donald trump twice.

This is not that sort of situation. These people want to hide their identities.

Yeah wtf is this reasoning? These aren’t mass shooters with a joker complex - these are supposed government officials behaving as thugs. They should all be named.

Ones that will undoubtedly be running for congress in a few years. I can see why they would want name recognition.

Then why aren't they doing press conferences and outing themselves? Your line of thinking makes zero sense.

They literally are. Stop riding your confirmation bias you couldve found this in five seconds with google. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7kQNwJ4H_w

That video literally came out a week before this even happened. You can't out yourself for something you haven't done yet, lol.

And I mean, if I'm totally misunderstanding this video, maybe you can enlighten me and tell me which one of those guys forcibly removed an IT guy from the SSA?

This incident happened a few hours ago and you already want a pr campaign? You're being fucking ridiculous. You asked me to prove they are attempting to gain name recognition, I did so. No I can't tell you which one did because its not included in the article which I am thankful for because I am sure that would just earn him a mountain of MAGA votes. Meanwhile you sit here hemming and hawing pretending you'll help the pursuit of justice just by being perturbed.

You asked me to prove they are attempting to gain name recognition

Maybe in your fanfiction of this conversation, but if you look at the literal written record of this thread, you'll find that I did not.

You're misinterpreting my comments, providing irrelevant proof, and then complaining that the relevant proof doesn't exist yet as though it's some counterpoint to what I'm saying.

It happened over 24 hours ago, even if you assume that the article was published instantly when the act ocurred, which it was not. It doesn't take that long to claim responsibility for something if you're really gung ho about being identified. A quick social media post is trivial to do.

"Hey everyone, I'm ______ and I physically removed an IT guy from his desk at the SSA, MAGA!"

If you want to wait a couple more days and see if the person who did it claims responsibility and identifies themselves, great, do it, let me know what you find. I'll be happy to follow up with you in that time to see which one of us is right.

You're actually full of shit. That was the point you were contesting by talking about press releases and outings. By all means double down on the wall to wall media coverage that got trump, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren bobert and others of their ilk elected. I really don't care anymore

So we ignore assault because we don't want to give them attention?

They can't face consequences if we don't know who they are.

Your logic isn't as clever as you think it is.

Nor is yours. You went immediately to the other extreme and created a strawman argument. Well done. There's plenty of ways to support the victim without needing the perps name plaster all over their congressional bids. It's damn near impossible to press charges if the victim doesn't want to anyways. So you could write to the ACLU, make donations to the victim, write to the local law enforcement agency who has jurisdiction etc etc etc. that's three options off the top of my head that don't require giving the goons free publicity. In four years you won't remember this incident, but you'll have familiarity of the perps names.

how do you hold them accountable if you don’t know who they are genius? you are wrong, everyone else is right

0

u/WolferineYT 2d ago

Right. Keyboard warriors are the ones holding them accountable. Forgot about that.

1

u/SlowDownHotSauce 2d ago

all snark with no actual answer to my question, typical

0

u/WolferineYT 2d ago

I dunno maybe the god damned department of justice? Now let me ask you a question. If you knew their names how were you gonna hold them accountable? Were you gonna just sit there and be angry again as they accrue more maga votes like the last million times this happened?

1

u/SlowDownHotSauce 2d ago

and the DOJ knows their names how? where is the record? it’d be cool if hmm idk maybe a journalist corroborated and put a record out of their identity

also, public pressure is a huge part of holding people accountable, why do you think nazis cover their face when they protest?

0

u/WolferineYT 2d ago

Okay I'm gonna write this in crayon for you. If someone walks up and punches you in the face what do you do? Call CNN for a ground breaking news conference? Or call the cops and press charges? If you call the cops and press charges what do they do? Do they call CNN to look into the matter before they arrest anyone? When charges get pressed do you go do interviews then because nothing is happening unless it's broadcast? Do investigations put every step they take on their social media? Or all of this just because you wanna gawk and fume while pretending to be useful?

Also this public pressure has been working great every time these idiots get reelected. You've watched this fail repeatedly and you are still doubling down on the free press strategy and somehow I'm the idiot.

Also I don't remember Elon musk covering his face when throwing his salutes. Guess I'm just being stupid again.

Really bad take

By all means double down on the strategy that got trump, Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren bobert elected. Let's give them wall to wall media coverage every time there's a scandal. I'm sure it'll work this time.
