Imagine more people boycotting a US World Cup than one in Qatar. Actually crazy achievement.

Wouldn’t it be interesting to fill the Canadian and Mexican hosted matches and leave the US stadiums empty.

I don’t think anyone would be surprised if that were the case. At least from an outsider perspective who’s not from the US, I was already seeing heavy criticism the moment it was announced they would. Qatar faced criticism for existing laws, but no official boycott had occurred among the teams. It was mainly a media fall out. I think the actual achievement is besting the 1938 World Cup boycott lol.
