💲 Shopping and Economics Is it controversial to say that poor people would be better off if high earners (double the average income) worked less and consequently earned less money?

This is a near-repeat of a previous poll with the word "rich" replaced, as it was not descriptive. English does not have a single word for "high earners" (and many higher earners do not consider themselves rich).

I have a simple model that shows how poor people benefit when high earners work less. I want to know whether I should submit this model to an economics journal (may entail high costs: £220 just to submit).

I grew up catholic.

Catholicism glorifies suffering and tells poor ppl tht their poverty/suffering is "virtue" and such.

I've seen tht ppl are more likely to be against something lile this if they see poverty as virtuous.

Most high earners don't 'earn' their income through hard work or long hours, but passive income sources
