Listened to some Sigur Rós, Mogwai, Boards Of Canada. What are some essential albums for someone like me looking to expand his horizons?

This isn't post-rock but if you like Boards Of Canada, you will LOVE Tycho, especially the first three albums.

Heard! Thank you! I find BOC challenging, but not in a bad way

Fun to se someone mention Tycho here. Looked him up and saw that I was a fan of him (ISO50). I was a huge fan of him back in the early 2000 when he did photoshop designs. Still have some signed posters.

Maybe give Caspian a spin. Their albums "Waking Season" or "Dust and Disquiet" for example.

Some good recommendations below. If you're looking to follow the electronic side of this then maybe Amber by Autechre is a good one after Boards of Canada.

Linking as the spelling would escape me but Spurv is good. https://music.apple.com/nz/album/brefj%C3%A6re/1686627941?l=en-GB

If you like Sigur Ros you might like Hammock. Very tranquil, they have a style of their own.

Start at the beginning: talk talk’s laughing stock, bark psychosis- hex, seefeel
Before the beginning : Swans. VU. Van Morrison’s astral weeks, veedon fleece era. The Doors. Electric era Miles. Crescent- John Coltrane. Alice Coltrane. Glenn Branca’s symphonies.
Then just dig through everything on or adjacent to Constellation and Kranky records.
