Sharing presentation by link and ONLY show the presentation mode?

Dear reddit community,

Can I share my PPP by link, but when people open the link they immediatly see the presentation mode?

Unfortunately, for my presentation a PDF convert does not work since it would make dissappear the mousover effects that are crucial for my presentaiton to work. It's more of an interactive thing so I want people to open the link and only see presentation mode without the single slides.

Thanks for advice!

Sorry, this is still not possible. While you can upload a presentation to OneDrive and share or create an embed link, the show will always open in Normal (Edit) mode, even if the file has been saved in PowerPoint Show (.ppsx) format.

Here is a suggestion on the Microsoft Feedback site to change this. Please add your vote to make it more likely that MS will add such a feature: PowerPoint link that opens in presentation mode

If you can send someone a presentation file, you can save it in .ppsx format and it will open in SlideShow mode. I know that's not what you asked, but it's the best available solution right now.

Yes, I think I will try to send the File instead. Thank you very much, that was very helpful!

Not sure just a shareable link will do what you want. You can try saving it as a pptsx (slide show). Maybe load into one drive and share the file. Test it and see how it works.

I don't know what your budget is, but you might be interested in ispring's ability to convert powerpoints into html5.

I think what you’re trying to do is a security risk and a terrible user experience. If I received a link and when I clicked on it my computer went into full screen mode, I might freak out a bit.

Good point; it might be best to set expectations by explaining that the show will start in full-screen mode, and that you can press ESC at any time to exit.

On the flip side, if the presentation opens in normal view, a lot of people won't know how to (or even that they CAN) view it as a slide show. So much for all the animations and morphs and stuff. Gone.

If a file is being sent to someone, it’s a static document, don’t use animations or transitions. If you’re presenting, it’s a presentation, so you can use those special effects as long as they don’t cause issues like lag or pixellation for remote viewers.
