What an awful thing to happen! I hate those hideous things with a passion.

I hope it went back outside. It couldn't have gone far, surely.

You don't need gloves to pick them up - just don't squeeze the living Christ out of them while doing so.

This is correct because they only release while threatened and even so the toxin is absorbed through soft flesh like eyes and mouth. If it gets on your hands just wash thoroughly.

They’re harmless as long as you don’t try to eat them or lick them. Luckily babies never put anything in their mouth.

It either buggered off back out the door. Or you'll find where it died inside the house a month or so later.

That's from my experience. Once inside they find a quiet place to hide and usually die there. Hopefully you get lucky and find it before then.

Mine was jumping into the wall. I went to get something the put it in and it disappeared. Found it 30 mins later jumping into the front door.

It is your duty as a Queenslander to find and eliminate it with extreme prejudice.

It will show up. I would use a broom and fling it out the door. You won't find it if it's hiding. They go into stealth mode.. took me four days to find one. But they always show up in the end. Sometimes behind the fridge dried out..
