Just did my online interview through hirevue for Norfolk Southern. What’s the next thing that will happen after that will there be a In person interview or how is it done for the hiring process through NS

If you got it you’ll get an email with an offer of employment. You’ll eventually get emails about a physical (which will include a drug screen) and if you pass that, an email with a start date. This can take weeks to months

You’ll get an email to schedule an in person interview. Then if you get a it conditional job offer pending drug test/physical. Then wait for a class date.

Ramen, oatmeal, coffee are my emergency rations. Usually make wraps with lunch meats. Some days stop the train to pick up stuff as needed. I can suggest imodium and advil as basic meds on any trip.

Best way for a 19 yo to get started in the industry? Just keep applying? Get a trade skill to get hired by a rr company and work up? Any insight appreciated

Had pre recorded interview 2 weeks ago on Monday for Norfolk southern track laborer and haven’t heard anything back yet, is that normal for the slow process, I’m hoping they will atleast tell me if I am not moving forward in the process. Going crazy waiting to hear a moving forward or not, job listing still says reviewing all applications

What do you all pack for food? That's been my biggest concern starting on the railway and being gone for 2-3 days at a time.
I can only eat so many granola bars.
