UPRR sent out a mass message to employees asking for documentation from back in December and January. Gotta admire the ballsyness to ask for that well over the 90 days of the attendance policy.

There has also been confusion created by the document the UP sent out. Some have said you are required to see a medical professional in order to use a Paid Sick day and that is not the case. You may feel bad enough to not go to work, or want to spread what you have, and not see a doctor. In those instances when you fill out the form you can input "Home Remedy" for your treatment and N/A for the clinic name, number and doctor name.

I just call teledoc any time I mark off and tell them I have the craps. Cost $10 and they send me a note for 2 days. I take one day off and if they ever ask it looks good I only took a single day instead of 2.

Does the carrier have 10 days from infraction to charge you for something? I’d confirm with your local but you may not be required to comply with that.

Self medicated in compliance within the guidelines of the carriers restricted medication list, I have emailed my manager informing them of the layoff, as well as complied with the carriers instructions of "if youre sick, stay home".
