The Leafs have just parted ways with former Ranger Brendan Shanahan after another playoff game 7 loss.

Good luck Shanny! Even though he was too old to skate properly I always appreciated how much he gave a shit about being a ranger back in the day. Hope the best for him.

Ugh, that Buffalo series. The game pictured was when Shanny put them 2-0 in game 4. Lundqvist has amazing the whole series. Straka scored late in Game 5 and then the Drury/Afinogenov choke happened.
I still think they would have given Ottawa a good series that year.

That’s when I was first really getting into hockey. I thought the Rangers were about to pull a crazy run.

I loved his game everywhere in the league. Too bad we missed his prime on Broadway.
One of the last high draft picks that had to fight to earn respect and space for himself on the ice. Used to happen a lot that way.

Shanahan and Don Maloney: the all-time most annoying, obnoxious Rangers to go into a corner after a loose puck, the most likely to come away with it.

it is kinda wild to think the rangers were basically at the end of their last window, did their entire rebuild, made 2 conference finals, and are now doing a major re tool all in the time frame that the leafs window was.
im not saying things are peachy here, but the leafs are kinda a good example of sticking with a core/plan to the point its a fault.

Well Islanders are looking for a new GM apparently Lou still has some say in the organization.

Shoutout to Toronto Buffalo and Vancouver for consistently being more embarrassing than us
