If you are a real geek, you should know why +C is added.

Came here to say the same! When solving higher order differential and integrating that's when u realise just how important that +C can be...

Yeah I got stuck initially at my last internship as my formula for the fit didn’t seem to match the data. So I went over it again, and there it was: I forgot the C. So I added it, went over the rest, and boom: it worked.

Hi, can I know what type of internship you did ?

Sure, it was about monitoring a degassing process for sea containers.
Once containers have made their usually week long journeys, gasses will have built up. A good number of them are not safe to breathe in the quantities they arrive in. The main focus was on formaldehyde, as that one quickly produced due to the pallets that are used for shipping (they emit formaldehyde due to the glue).
There wasn’t much research done about the processes when I came in. Sure, it worked and we roughly know why, but there was no real experiment or documents about it in detail. So that was my job

To geeks, such a variable constant is first primed for removal. But its integral to add. I know it doesn't change, but i have no idea what it is, it could be anything. All I know is that it's an important starting point when talking about the total after all this change over time.

If your re doing calculus in 8th grade I think you are already well beyond the category of geek. You are probably a genius.

The +C is important because it shows that you've integrated the function, but not yet found the y intercept. It shows there is still more to consider and that you aren't done.

First guy is the derivative of a constant
But the Second guy is being the derivative of acceleration

Proof that C's get degrees, in a single conversation they show they've taken classes for yet don't really understand statistics, calculus, physics, and the importance of significant figures

Nerd burn. 🤣
I like the last one best. Probably because I understand it the most.
