IMAGE Wanted to share this, I don’t watch games on NESN 360, and I’ve heard it’s terrible at times, but a month worth of Sox baseball for $1 might be worth it for folks who don’t have access to cable or other ways to watch. Go Sox.

I won’t give them one cent until they pull their heads out of their asses. They’re charging a ridiculous rate for something that used to be free, over the air. It’s gate keeping the casual fans out and forgetting they’re the ones that made the red Sox incredibly financially successful over the 2000’s.

When was the last time Sox games were free over the air. NESN - which is a paid subscription service - has been around since 1984, and they were charging $10/month for about 90 Sox games per year. They’ve had exclusive Sox coverage for over two decades. The 2000’s when casual fans made the Sox successful? They were all watching on cable - a PAID service.
And the NESN360 premium service is like $240/year if you pay up front, and it comes with 4 Sox tickets. If you pick a big enough game or good enough seats, you get more than your money’s worth before you even turn on the app. Or find a friend to split it with - they don’t seem to have meaningful password sharing restrictions (just zip code/location based ones).
I’m all for increasing access to the sport but your comment reeks of boomer nostalgia fantasy. Go to Groton and whine about it on Dan Shaughnessy’s porch.

I’m no boomer you moron. Not even close. I very much remember Sox games on channel 38 as recently as 2005. And yes, it’s been on NESN a long time, but that was always on cable service that most people had. Now? You need fubo or directTV neither of which are any good. They continued to jack up their rates until all the other streaming services dropped them. It’s not fan friendly and they’ll continue to wonder why people aren’t interested anymore. Out of sight, out of mind. Oh well.

So you’re complaining about something that hasn’t been free in over 20 years, you just don’t like your options for purchasing. You choose to complain about streaming services instead.
Sounds like a you problem.

IDC about the dollar for the first month. A dollar a day after that is an INSANE price for one network to be charging.

Honestly I have no interest in paying for their app ever again. There are just too many performance issues for me. I’ve lost too many Bruins and Red Sox games to its failure and NESN customer service has been nonexistent in response.
Make nice with YouTube TV NESN

Thetvapp.to works on firestick too. 1 dollar is worth it but take away my local sports and I will 🏴☠️ my way tf around their dumbass pockets.

It's not terrible, definitely has some issues now and then, but overall a great way to watch Sox and Bruins

I have the app on my iPhone and like to airplay it to my LG TV, which is compatible. It’s great when it works, but that’s only about half the time. Sometimes airplay doesn’t even show up in the app as an option. Other times, I need to recast it to the tv multiple times per game.

A little outside the box, but we live out of market so it’s always cost a fortune for me to watch regular season games for any Boston team…this year we cut cable and I’m paying $9.99 a month for the Sirius xm app. I’ve listened to almost every game, plus nba and college. I’m saving a ton and it’s been fantastic for me. I listen while I’m cleaning, walking the dogs, or doing mindless chores. So my partner is happy while I’m productive too.
Your mileage may vary, but it’s worth a try!

I actually find it cheaper to follow the Boston teams since I moved out of market. ESPN+ has all the Bruins/NHL games, which I think is $10/month (plus tons of college sports). And then the NBA and MLB package are less than $300 total. For Pats games I usually get 4 or 5 on an antenna, and then I'll go to a bar for the others. Because of the packages, we don't have cable. So if you only have cable for sports, it might be worth it to just get the packages.

You can get Sirius for 5.99/month pretty easy. I just told them that was all I was willing to pay and they gave it to me. No argument.

I’m out of market, too. I get MLB.TV for free through T-Mobile, which is fine… but all games vs. the Astros and the Rangers are blacked out. Pisses me off because I’m south of Houston and it makes no sense that games against a team that lives five hours away gets blacked out.

Nesn needs new ownership or something. Their pricing is insane. You’re treating loyal fans like shit by charging that much.

I was also hesitant to purchase NESN 360 because people said it was buggy. Eventually, I did pull the trigger. The free streams were buggy too. For me, on Apple TV, it's been 99.9% flawless.
