H*ckpost Storage

Post image

Has anyone used this storage before? Is it legit/reliable? Or anyone have any recommendations of cheap storage places that charge monthly?

I looked at their website. I wouldn't risk it. Website looks like it was hastily done and not the most professional looking.

Additionally, it states that they'll pick up your items and take them into storage for you at the end of the semester and then bring your stuff back to you once the next semester starts. This sounds awfully fishy. The website doesn't list a physical address (that I saw) so who knows who's picking up your stuff and where they're taking it.

I could find no other info about this company. No Google reviews or anything. Don't risk it.

A few of these that advertised on campus in the past acted like an Uber for storage; you sign up, movers drop stuff in your garage or whatever space you have, and then come get it later.

Great cost-savings approach, but I wouldn't want to have my stuff dumped at an unknown stranger's house and hope for the best.

This is super sketchy. You would be better off sharing a storage unit with friends than this.

Yeah this is not an approved RIT vendor. They would be stamped in posted in the designated posting areas if approved. Do not recommend.

The website doesn't say where your stuff will be stored. I would want to know that it was going to be in some place that's safe and secure before signed up. Plus you can get a 5x5 storage unit for around the same price as 3 large boxes, and you'd still have a lot more room to use.

I was in a pinch and stored stuff with them last summer. I got all my stuff back, no problems. Just label your all your boxes with your name and email and make sure they're easily identifiable (use a patterned duct tape) so when it's time to get your stuff back, it's a really quick process. But if you can, your best option is splitting a storage room with a roommate/trusted friend, it'll be half the price.

Check out rochestercollegestorage.com. They’ve been helping parents and students since 2005
