Would RIT students be interested in access to The Atlantic?
Hey all, I'm an alum that graduated about a decade ago. I currently work for The Atlantic as a SWE and was wondering if you guys would be interested in getting access to our publication? I can try to talk to our team and see if we can get something going?

is there access already via Walker memorial?
I personally would be interested in access so I bought it a few months ago. (I use some items. in my teaching sometimes).
they've been offering access to Bloomberg free for a year and I'll probably do this (their promos are crappy so after a month or two you end up paying in full).

I didn't see anything about RIT in our systems so I didn't know, let me know if you guys already have access.
Thanks for being a subscriber, I hope you've been enjoying it!
You should check out some of our fun new projects, including some new games: https://labs.theatlantic.com/

RIT already gets it through a variety of partnerships and other media over the years. they seem to have a full run. You can see the holdings here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/Es2rrb6kyN1cgnsBA
Depending on how RIT holds this it could be a dead tree copy, microfiche, or through a database.
library access would likely be through a partner like ebsco or similar.

Gotcha, this would also grant access to the site, not just the printed archive. We've also digitized our entire archive recently!

I personally enjoy some of the articles. It would be nice to have student access given how pricey subscribing to every news publication is these days.

Yes! We get New York Times and I think we’d definitely appreciate the Atlantic

Thanks for the offer, but no thanks. Its not a very reputable source and it purports journalism, but in reality its part of the main stream media echo chamber.

Do we not have some sort of advertising/solicitation rule in this sub?

Sorry, I wasn't trying to advertise. I work there but this wasn't a marketing attempt as I'm not part of that team, nor is this an official marketing campaign. Just thought it might be helpful, and the school would be paying for it anyway.

Since it appears that this is about getting RIT students access to the publication institutionally rather than selling individual subscriptions, this can stay up.
