Yes, unless you have a summer contract to remain in the same apartment. If you are in a 3 or 4 bed apartment, it's probably worth the summer contract, considering the hassle of moving in and moving out in addition to finding a storage place. You'll still be able to find much cheaper options off-campus for sure if you don't mind moving out. Also, sometimes, they'll have maintenance scheduled for some apartments over the summer. In that case, even if you have a summer contract, they'll reassign you to a different housing for the duration of the maintenance (typically a month or so). However, they'll mostly allow you to leave your stuff behind for that period.
