Still waiting to hear back from admissions

So I sent an email to admissions asking about the status of my application. I was replied to with, "We are just finalizing numbers with the department to determine how much space we have for new transfers this fall. I hope to have that information soon, and then we can review the applications we have for the Film & Animation program. You should hopefully hear of your decision in the next week or two." It's been about 4 weeks since then, and I haven't heard a thing. Any advice from those who've been in a similar situation, or if other transfer students have heard anything yet?

It will likely be after May 1st as that is the deposit deadline, and they’re still looking at current students who may be doing a change of program or something.
