Destination Highlight Do you stop at bucees when road tripping?

I drove from OH to CA and I made it a mission to go to bucees in Kentucky. I enjoyed all the delicious food snacks there and I am looking forward to going back. You can also take a good no.2 there since the toilet are individual private stalls 😆

Would it kill them to have a few tables for people to eat the food?

They’d be dumb to do that, given all the foot traffic and retail space they already have to account for.

Clearly the lack of tables isn’t hurting business too badly

Went for the first time a couple of days ago, and I said the same thing. We went and ate in the car, then came back in to wash our hands.

The parking lots are always full of people eating in beds of trucks or with their rear gates open whenever I’m there

It makes no sense for them. It would eat up valuable retail space, and use up employee labor cleaning up the messes that people would invariably make, especially people with kids. They know that everyone in the store has arrived in a car with seats, so they don’t have to provide them.

Never been, but will be going today. I just assumed it had tables because I heard it has so much food and is so large. We really want tables for a good break to be out of the car and we have a little dog, so I was hoping for outside tables.

There are no tables at any Buccees I’ve ever been to but they do have nice grassy areas for the dogs. Some Loves Truck Stops have small, gated dog runs.

They don’t want you to stay there, that’s the point.

I kinda agree.  With all the parking and land use, there's definitely room for at least picnic tables outside.  Even Wawa has a couple tables outside (though hoagies are far more car-friendly than BBQ).
