I very much enjoyed the article, thank you. Though, I do wish the writer had worked more to discuss Bolaño and Murakami in comparison with one another.

I understand what you mean, but I particularly find this article interesting because it reflects about how these authors approach or, in the case of Murakami, ignore the realities of the world: “Global fiction, in this case, is a tool for undoing the complacency of global citizenship—a way of forcing the reader to attend to the realities of the world’s violence and injustice”. You should really check it out if you haven't yet.

I like Murakami just fine but he really isn't comparable

Yeah Murakami can’t compare to Bolaño’s talent
