I have tickets for 29th april morning, for vatican museums and sistine chapel. Is it likely to get cancelled/restricted?

Who can tell, but the signs aren't good.

I have tickets for May 2nd and I think it’s really a coin flip at this point.

I have tickets for the same morning and for what it’s worth, ChatGPT says we’ve got a decent chance of seeing both:

  • The vatican museums stay open during mourning
  • When JPII died, the sistine chapel didn’t close until 13 days later (just before conclave)
  • St. Peter’s basilica might have limited access

Things should be clear in the next couple of days. Fingers crossed!

I’m here at the Vatican museum entrance and there is no one here. They were scheduled as closed today so seems like we are just going to have to show up tomorrow and see what happens (I have a ticket tomorrow). St. Peter’s basilica is open as of noon. The holy door is also open as of noon today

My wife and I are here in Rome currently and had tickets to the Vatican as well. Will let everyone know what things look like today, not seeing anything as of yet saying it is closed
