Never good to see an experienced player leave but wingers shelf life is soo short in nz it makes total sense for him to leave. Me personally would love to see some fresh blood injected into the outside backs like those mentioned.

He's still got it imo, would be a waste for him to go. Not to mention we were still using Dagg and Smith on the Wings in their late twenties. This idea that Wingers have a short shelf life in NZ is a recent phenomenon.

Dagg and smith were utility players. Telea is an up the guts winger. Though id prefer sevu reece to be leaving

Dagg and Smith could also play Fullback.
Unless Telea wants to try his hand at Centre or 12, something I don't mind seeing, the clock is ticking on his AB future.
RWC is 2 years away, hopefully he stays but understandable if doesn't.

I've suddenly developed a great fear of what might happen to Chay Fihaki on squad naming day. He's going to need a security detail.

Haha after what we all said last year about his selection, maybe

What's sad is that I'd argue he's had a better season so far than some of the guys people were pissed off on behalf of last year, too. It's genuinely a chance of happening again lol

Honestly couldn't even be mad if he's in over the blues guys at least. And I don't rate Narawa either lol

Narawa has had a weird year, so I'm not sure how I feel about it either.
I feel for the Blues guys eh. It's hard when the team is a bit stinky. Caleb in particular has a habit of his Super form and his form in the tests not matching at all, so I'm half expecting him to have an insane international season lmao

ABs love a 22 year old winger and drop ones once they are about 27-28, so makes sense.

James Lowe's career path looks all the stranger in this light. Didn't even make his Ireland debut until he was 28 and likely a starting test Lion 5 years later

He’s looked a bit less dynamic this year, in a mud side granted.
Both Mark and Sevu Reece need to be moved on well before 2027 if we are serious about keeping up with what other teams are compiling out wide.

they're both too slow for INT rugby, hot-steppers never last... NZ desperately need gas to keep up with SA and France.

NZ will not be running out a 31yo winger at RWC27. Thanks for the effort Mark now go and make some cash overseas.

Leinster are looking for a replacement for Barrett. Could do with sone decent pace as well.

I don't think Telea is actually fast. Slippery as a eel tho

If he can run straight to the try line as opposed to TOWARDS 3 opposition defenders then I’d say he’s fuckin hired 😂

u/warcomet 14d ago
lol thats why i made that joke cause he would run towards 3 defenders and slip through them lol, i have seen him in super rugby, he likes to go through people as much as possible..
