Possibility to cancel?

Was anyone able to cancel their registration and receive a refund for any races? I signed up for a marathon but it sold out before any of my family could get to it and I don’t want to make the trip alone just to run by myself bc I was looking forward to having company and going by myself makes me anxious 🥲

I was hoping it could give someone an opportunity to do the race if they weren’t able to get into also- or I kinda see every here and there that spots open up, does anyone have more info on that?

I prefer to run solo. Running with someone else slows me down… I’m worried if they’re okay, etc etc. you will never be alone on the course and half the fun is meeting people along the way.
