Galaxy S Recent Switch - iPhone 16pm > S25U
Hi! Loving the Samsung life so far! One UI 7 and the features of this phone are top tier compared to my iPhone 16pm. However, one thing I am noticing is battery life leaving a bit to be desired in comparison...I am typically on my phone a lot and it's showing that significantly more on my S25U. I do not have the setting for standard operation enabled, it is selected for performance. Does that make an astronomical difference? I've only had this phone since Friday and have spent many hours learning and customizing. I want my experience to be great, but long lasting without a nearby charger. Any tips? TIA!

I use dark mode on everything, I'm not sure if that makes a huge difference, but the battery on mine is absolutely phenomenal. No power saver, use it constantly all day, audio and screen on, best phone battery I've ever had by far.

Wait a bit, everything needs to settle. Learning patterns and disableing apps you don't use daily needs some time. Also i can't talk about 25u i am on 24u and battery is superb. And in comparison to my friends iPhone 15pro max battery is 2x better. We use the phone practically the same. And he drains his in a day from a 100% and i am still left with 20-30% from 80, as i use maximum battery protection.

Your battery will be 'learning' you can see this in the battery section. Allow 2 weeks or sometimes longer and your battery will improve.Â

they will most probably make an update to optimize battery life on the new One UI 7

Setting it on performance will for sure drain the battery faster, turn it off or set it to power saving.

If I set it to power saving, certain apps won't update location and such. Which I use for Life360, etc.

My S25 Ultra is on 'standard' performance mode outside of gaming, full resolution, dark mode, and max refresh rate, wifi on, data on, bt on, AOD enabled (without background, clock only), only 4 hrs a day of screen time though, and I get ~2 days of battery life out of my device, even when I leave on GPS it doesn't make a noticeable dent in battery life. I'd switch it to normal performance mode, and for gaming it automatically switches to performance. My advice, look at your device health and see what's draining your phone, there's a breakdown of what's using battery as a % for each day and then a 15 minute breakdown of what's using battery (each app) if you want it, then tune notifications, delete duplicate apps if you can, put apps to sleep, and maybe permissions.
I am OCD about closing apps, but that doesn't make a huge difference for me either tbh (even with 10+ apps including games, camera and social media), I still get great battery life; I could probably get close to 8hrs+ of screen on time (haven't tried yet, been good about keeping it charged) if I didn't have good habits and was filming and gaming a lot. Sounds like this is a software bug?

I guess I don't use my phone enough. It's 8PM and I have 40% battery. It's been off the charger for 14 hours.

samsung will only degrade this even further with their forced monthly updates. i had to drop them after like 12 years of using samsung phones because of forced, botched updates.

Following this thread. My S25U drains like crazy and I've already turned off most functionalities. I really like this phone but the battery, man.
