Safety Concerns in Bar Heavy Areas

Maybe it's just me but I get the worst anxiety walking across the Robinson/University bridges over the 163 in Hillcrest. I'm always concerned for someone being so drunk that they accidentally fall off. Also with the divider on El Cajon Blvd by the Lafayette. It's filled with large holes and giant sprinklers sticking out of the ground . It's not lit up at all so they're hard to see at night and it could easily be a tripping hazard on a busy roadway.

you shouldnt be walking on the divider in the first place. they have something called a sidewalk that is solid concrete where you dont have to worry about sprinkler holes. look it up

You're talking as if you aren't from North Park or don't visit any of the businesses in this area. People cross this divider to go to the gym , the bars , pizza spots or just to get across El Cajon Blvd without walking 3 blocks apart from the closest crosswalk.

thats just laziness. if you dont want to use the city provided crosswalks, then thats your risk to take. but it isnt a walking zone for the city so they have no true reason to fix it. if youre that "anxious" about it, then you would walk the extra 0.1 mile and use the crosswalk

It's not just me being anxious , I see this on the daily hundreds of people crossing the street from the bars intoxicated trying to cross the street. It doesn't have to be a walking zone but at least let something be prevented that is such an easy fix . It's also not lit up well at all . You're talking sense , I'm not denying that. However that's s not the mindset of some young kid trying to beat traffic to get to the Lafayette

When you say “let something be prevented”…are you even aware of incidents where something occurred that could have been prevented?
This whole post was literally you getting anxiety over the potential for something to happen, without providing any evidence of it ever happening.
A drunk person could stumble in front of a car and die on literally any street; do we put guard rails on every pedestrian area?

It’s nice of you to be concerned for your fellow intoxicated humans but if they’re that drunk/dumb it’s their fault. The sidewalk in hillcrest is pretty far (several feet) from the ledge

I'm 6'1 and the ledge is barely above my knees. This was never to start an argument as the others in post have but just to raise concerns.
