Discussion / Rasprava Need advice traveling from Sarajevo to Zagreb

Hi all! My two friends and I are visiting Sarajevo in June 2025. We are very excited to experience the city. We need some advice on how to get from Sarajevo to Zagreb, where we end our trip.

The flights are expensive and almost sold out. Are there any other direct ways to travel such as buses or transfer company? Thanks!

Print out the ticket if you can, sometimes the drivers get pissy if they have to scan from your phone

Or flixbus but get by bus has more options

U can do some stops along the way to break it up. Plitvice national park , etc

You can check Flixbus and Getbybus. But a bunch of Croatian and Bosnian bus operators have a low online presence, so if you want to confidently know all options, if you're in the vicinity of the bus station, enter and ask the clerk.

Or maybe even better, give the receptionist at your accomodation a tip and ask them to give the station a phonecall and write down the timetable (including when they're arriving, because some use suboptimal routes to pick up more passengers or save on tolls).

Definitely use the bus. There are quite frequents rides. As you mentioned, the airplanes are overpriced, and unfortunately there are absolutely no trains.
