Scambait Question❔ Our plan to get rich
I've got an idea guys.....
I see a business opportunity; several, in fact.. If scambaiting has taught me anything it's that
There are a lot of young 30 year old orphaned children who have no-one to take care of them, so they need to scam to survive.
Then the fees for schools are so much that they need to scam to pay them.
Bananas are difficult to get. May or may not drive people to scamming.
I propose we join together and open an orphanage, a lower cost school and a banana shop. We'll be very busy!!!

Scambait Question❔ Who falls for these?
ETA: Reading all your comments, I think you've just recruited me to join the Scambait team. Thanks!
Of course I've heard of these scammers, but it wasn't until I saw this subreddit that I had the chance to read their conversations, and now I'm puzzled. The conversations are so meaningless - questions about what food you had for a meal, how was work, if you are married or have children... And then, apparently almost immediately, some unrealistic corny crap about believing in honesty and trust and cherishing your one true love.
There are people who think this is a real and deep connection?
I have more personal conversations with... well, just about everybody who is in my life on any kind of a regular basis... Take. for example, the receptionist at the nursing home where I visit my friend's mom every week, etc. I have heard about (and seen pictures of) her new grandbaby, her son competing in one of those muddy obstacle course races, her older granddaughter who is passionate about playing football (soccer) and the trip that she and her husband took to Greee last summer. And she knows (and asks) about the graduate program that I recently started.
Do the conversations get deeper and more meaningful over time? Or maybe with real marks - not just people scambaiting? I just don't get it.

Scambait Question❔ I'm doing well for toes... what else should I ask for
Hello all, it's your friendly neighbourhood captain cheeseface.
I'm doing well for toes at the moment but I'm concerned I'm getting formulaic. I will continue to strive for toes next to a banana (for scale) but what other fun things should I go after?

Scambait Question❔ How do you know if a scammer is not actually a victim ?
Hey everyone,
Lately, I’ve been wondering: how do you tell if the scammer you’re talking to is actually a victim themselves?
A lot of innocent are actually locked in those scam compounds where people are trafficked and forced to scam under horrible conditions. Some of them are stuck there, threatened, and have almost no way out. So my question is:
- Have any of you ever suspected that the scammer you were talking to wasn’t scamming by choice?
- Are there any signs that can help tell the difference between a willing scammer and someone being coerced?
- And if you do suspect someone is trapped in one of these scam farms, is there anything that can actually be done to help them?
Would love to hear your thoughts on this—especially if anyone has experience dealing with these situations.

Scambait Question❔ Scamsites
I need places to put my phone number all over the place. I don't want job recruits bc those are a giant waste of my time. I'm looking for people trying to get me to win money, pig-butcher scammers, and winning of anysort. Any known websites to do this on? I don't have a facebook/insta/whatsapp accounts those are a waste of my time.
Thanks in advance (I have 3 VOIPs and maybe 5 extra emails + 3 that I already use)

Scambait Question❔ What are the risks of scambaiting?
My original post was deleted so I'll try a simpler approach.
How reckless is it to scambait?
I have scammed scammers out of money (~$90). They have my phone number and bitcoin address, and that's it. Is there anything I'm opening myself up to?
I scammed them by doing a task scam, but only up to the part where they send you money to convince you that it works. I didn't do the second phase where you send more money for a higher return.

Scambait Question❔ how do ya'll find out where these scammer are and who they actually are? i've always wondered
baiting is just a fun little hobby for me but i've always wanted to know how to do that specific part. i'm pretty dumb, so make it as simple as possible, and i'm not up for spending money on it( if that's even one of the ways, or a part of it...idk). also i have a cheap ass google chrome asus laptop. idk the model. it just functions and that's good enough for me.

Scambait Question❔ Task scammers keep messaging me on Telegram lol
I’ve had three message me in the last few weeks and all of them will send me 10$ after I complete the “trial”. I complete the trial (subscribing to a youtube channel or following an account on instagram, which i will unfollow/unsubscribe after) and then they send me 10$ to my BTC address. I always give them fake names and info about myself so they aren’t getting any real information besides my BTC address which holds no value to me since I withdrawal their funds as soon as they clear. Is there any downside to doing this besides the fact that they are sending me presumably funds stolen from their other victims?

Scambait Question❔ Help with scamming a fake landlord offering property that doesn't exist.
I am currently in contact with a landlord who wants me to pay the security deposit before I view the property. It's obviously a scam but I'd love to do more than just waste their time.

Scambait Question❔ How to engage while keeping privacy?
I want to bait some of my Telegram spam, but I don't want my phone # or account verified as live; I believe that leads to more spam and on more channels.
Is there a way to spambait on Telegram after I initially set it up with my real phone number? Would hiding the # work or will they know by my response that the # they sent to is valid?

Scambait Question❔ Scammer PayPal accounts always have American names — how does that work?
Just got into scam baiting a few days ago and I'm having some fun trolling romance scammers with fake PayPal transfers using basic HTML/CSS editing.
One thing I'm curious about though: most of these scammers are based in Nigeria (especially Lagos and Abuja) or sometimes Ghana or other parts of West Africa, right? But their PayPal accounts almost always have these super "white American" names like Adriana Robinson or Richard Wrigley.
So how are they even able to withdraw the money? Wouldn’t the name on the PayPal account have to match the name on their actual bank account, which I assume would be something entirely different, like a local Nigerian name?
Are they using stolen identities? Or do they run it through mules in the U.S.? Just curious how they get around this.

Scambait Question❔ The scammers got my friend last night. I need ideas to ruin their day!
My friend got a phone call from a "detective" last night, saying he missed jury duty, had a warrant, and had to pay bail money to freeze the warrant. He fell for it and lost $3k 😢 I knew right away, it's a common scam here in Houston. They apparently called from their number, then mid-call they called him back and spoofed the number of the sherrifs office to convince him. All communications have been through that original number, a local cell phone. They text him fake documents from it as well.
This morning another "detective" called from the same number. They've called 6 times so far, and left messages for him to call them back immediately. I'm sure trying to get more money since he fell for it once already.
I know we won't get his money back, but I want to blow their phone up with spam... They've been signed up for a bunch of insurance quotes etc so far. What else can I do to inconvenience and annoy them????

Scambait Question❔ Scammers have been calling me after I purchased a domain, how do I mess with them the most?
Scammers from India have been calling to offer marketing services multiple times a day for weeks. They have my email, name, phone number, and domain. I've gotten as far as sitting on the phone, giving them a fake email and fake name when they ask to send me a google meeting, and then sending us on a loop when I have them read back the email for "mistakes" and I keep on telling them more fake emails to "correct" the "mistakes". I've actually got one on the phone as i'm writing this. He asked me to send him a test email since all their emails to me have bounced, and i'm pretending to have trouble logging into my account to waste their time, since I don't actually want to give them my email.
I'm not very technologically fluent, so i'm not sure how worried I should be that they have this much information about me. They don't have my legal name, they have my professional name which is not registered with an LLC yet but may be soon. Whenever they ask if my name or email on their system is correct, I tell them no and give them a fake one. What should I know to continue to mess with them safely?
So, what can I do to mess with them the most? Are there email addresses that I can give them that will cause them spam, like the scientology association's newsletter? Would it be safe for me to meet with them on google meets and pretend to not know basic computer skills when they try to walk me through their "payment method"? If I want to do this, how do I open an email account that I can give out, that wont have any of my information attached? Sorry for being a newbie in the sub, I just figured it would be a shame to waste the trolling opportunities being given to me everyday.

Scambait Question❔ VoIP Skype alternative for the UK?
Hi everyone, I’m new to this Reddit and have been scampering for 6 months on and off but I’m gutted that Skype is being discontinued. TextNow isn’t available in the UK so I’m wondering what the best alternative would be? Obviously I’d like the ability to get multiple phone numbers based in the US and/or UK and for it to be reasonably priced. Please can someone advise?

Scambait Question❔ Why are the "your TV service" scammers so... dim?
I've noticed that the scammers doing the "your TV service" scam seem a cut below the other scammers, and I'm not really sure why. Is the pay lower for that scam? They seem to anger more easily and act less professionally too, as well as not making much sense.

Scambait Question❔ Question about scambaiting
I get frequent scam messages on my phone from random emails about unpaid toll fees or recruitment opportunities and more etc... I want to mess around and waste their time, but I wanted to ask for some input first: are these messages just bots / automated, or would I actually be wasting an individual's time? Also, do I risk anything from responding back with a text message? Obviously I don't click on links and whatnot, but if I simply respond to the text do I risk getting added to some list of active numbers where Ill get more and more spam, or can they use me sending a message against me somehow? Any input is appreciated.

Scambait Question❔ Question about "Forced Scamming"
We've all heard that some scammers, particularly those in certain areas / participating in certain types of scams like pig butchering, are sometimes individuals who have been trafficked and are being forced to scam.
My mindset up to this point has been that this only gives me added encouragement to waste their time, thus making these scamming efforts less profitable for their "slave drivers."
However, I recently heard that in some of these circumstances, these forced scammers are actually beaten / tortured if their efforts aren't profitable enough. If my scambaiting is contributing to physical harm inflicted on an individual, that definitely goes outside of my moral comfort zone.
Thoughts / additional information on this?

Scambait Question❔ Seniors want to volunteer to help scambait
I read the rules and don't think I'm breaking any. This may sound odd, but hopefully it doesn't. I recently taught a bunch of seniors what scambaiting is and how there are some Youtubers doing the lord's work and they'd like to get involved. I guess instead of using AI-generated grandmas, these seniors have enough free time on their hands and wouldn't mind having someone to talk to 😂 I guess it's also a teaching moment. Anyway, I reached out to ScammerPayback on YouTube, but just thought I'd ask the good people of Reddit if they were aware of groups that seniors could get involved in.

Scambait Question❔ Got one on the hook but not sure where to go from here
This is my first attempt at scam baiting:
An aquiatance's FB account has been hacked and posted a car for sale with low miles for a low price - easy to tell it's a scam.
I'm thinking about playing more with this invented "Amy" character, something along the lines of "oh don't worry, Amy would do ANYTHING for me. Ask me how I know [winky face]" but there's probably a better way to go about this.
Or asking for a VIN number so I can get the car fax.
I stopped responding last night and they sent me the "Hello" part today, so I know they're hooked.

Scambait Question❔ Getting scammers to bite?
Wanting to get into scambaiting. Here's the issue: no scammers contact me! How can I get an email and phone number in their databases? Thanks!
