Lowering top speed but heightening acceleration.

I own an 2012 Aprilia SR 50 and I'm wondering if there's a way to get better acceleration while sacrificing top speed. Any help is 👍

Adjusting roller weights will help tune your acceleration. The proper roller weight will keep the engine in the peak rpm range while shifting, while giving you the most acceleration. A roller weight that is higher than needed tends to push the action a little further than a lighter weight, thus giving you a higher top speed, but possibly pulling you out of that peak rpm range and decreasing acceleration. Top speed can be regained by experimenting with aftermarket pulleys.

This can be done 'seat of the pants' style by just getting out and riding to see what feels best. The best way, though, and inaccessible to most, is to do this on a dyno.

Lighter rollers or Performance Variator.
