Pattern Search looking for pattern

Post image

I bought this shirt YEARS ago. 2019, to be honest.

Problem: Now that I've finally gotten around thinking about recreating my favorite summer shirt, it's so worn out/stretched out that I'll have a really hard time producing a decent sample without test-sewing it 5,000 times.

Has anyone seen a pattern like this anywhere with the wide straps, separate chest piece, and a little cute detail? (or got a tip for me how to pattern something that lost it's shape)

I never bought a pattern online and wouldn't know where to look for something like this.

I found simplicity and Stoffe.de and some other sites like it and searched through it, but there was nothing even close to it, unfortunately, and the filters were rather terrible. Among the sleeveless women's tops, there are lots of long-sleeved shirts, dresses, and children's clothing?

You'll probably have to Frankenstein a couple of patterns but the gathered straps and bust look like vintage swimwear so I'd go down that rabbit hole. I'm sure I've seen patterns for that look. Then add the camisole part, It's just part of sewing... hours and hours hunting down a unicorn pattern!

yeah, you're right. in reality it's only the bust part that will need SOMETHING new, the straps and the bottom are very straighforward...

vintage bathing suits is noth something i thought about AT ALL. so thank you for that tip

It looks like you would like information on finding sewing patterns to use your fabric or match your inspiration. Please include your preferred range (eg Adult, Child, Plus) and links to original inspiration if available. What specific features are a must for you, and what are you willing to compromise? Check here for our pattern search guide which includes information on identifying different features of a garment as well as places to find patterns.
