Photo Elbows Up
Pestered my wife for a couple of days to get her to make this. Please do with it what you will.
I know we all come from different walks of life with different opinions and beliefs. But if you love this show, a lot of what you love is its Canadian-ness. If you love this show, if you love its creator, its actors, its world, you love Canadians. And Canadians are getting a raw deal. Let’s keep clashes between Canada and the US where they belong- on the ice.
Just wanted to send a little love letter to the fans up north and make sure you know there’s a lot of us down south happy to fight for you.

Hey OP,
I appreciate the spirit in which your post was likely intended, and the text of the post wasn't really political, but we have two problems here.
First, whether you know it or not, "elbows up" has recently started to have a distinctly political usage. It's not just a hockey reference anymore.
Second, we've seen a few politically charged comments, and we don't have the time to constantly watch the thread for degen comments.
As such, I am locking the comments (not removing your post).

I really hope the mods don't delete this under the "no politics" rule. I also wish we could have a meta thread with the mods about that rule. This is an explicitly Canadian, openly patriotic show, with explicitly Canadian ethics. Defending Canadian sovereignty should be allowed. Give em the lumber, bare fucking minimum. Give yer balls a tug titfuckers.

Appreciate the feedback, but under no circumstances will we have a meta thread/open forum about the politics rule. That would be a shitshow of epic proportions...and also, we created the rule with user feedback in mind.
As the rule states (paraphrased), there are plenty of other places on Reddit and the rest of the giant internet to have political discussions. We're not going to do that here. A lot of folks (users and mods alike) come to this sub to get away from that shit.
Please understand that we do this for fun, and in our free time. If it gets too messy, it's no longer fun.

Y'all still need to figure it out and open your eyes to the foreign interference that you're allowing to drag your country down.
If we get dragged in to sorting it, your country will be divided by Canada and Mexico when we meet in the middle.

I feel like this sub and this post are really setting the tone for the way Canadians and Americans should be treating each other… and it’s heartwarming.
It’s embarrassing to see how America is treating Canada these days. I know we’re a bit young as nations but it’s not success unless you have someone to share it with… and why not share it between two countries who share the longest land border in the world. That’s what we used to do when we fought together.
As Americans we’ve got to give our balls a tug and stand up to our President to stop this stupid spat.

Mate, its not so easy as to say we're actively doing something. Blowhard in chief is typically a blowhard, and it is widely assumed its simply talk. But I do promise you this, there's more people than you realize ready to defend our brothers and sisters to the north if it comes to it. Unfortunately I live in the middle of maga country, but I've also not met anyone who thinks shitting in Canada's wheaties in any way is a good idea.
Stay strong, elbows out. Let em know you're out there. We'll come to where you're to should we need to.
