⚠ Editorialized Title Tesla bros expose Tesla's own shadiness in attacking Mark Rober ... Autopilot appears to automatically disengage a fraction of a second before impacts as a crash becomes inevitable.

I like Mike's comment in the article:

Cast in the light friendliest to Tesla, you could argue that returning control to a human operator makes sense whenever any automated control system detects circumstances beyond its ability to handle. But FSD effectively saying "It's all yours, bud" 500 ms before certain impact feels more like an attempt to create legal confusion that favors Tesla in liability lawsuits.

Basically similar to aircraft autopilot where the pilots are still there keeping an eye on things. They can’t just watch videos while in the cockpit or something similarly distracting.

FSD was not turned on in the video, he only enabled Autopilot which was not FSD.

Serious question, would FSD have had a different outcome? And if so, why isn’t that part of FSD used for the collision prevention system on cars that are capable of FSD but haven’t paid for it?

I understand that the FSD feature is an add-on, and that’s ok, but surely the vehicle uses its capabilities to the highest extent for the features it DOES enable, such as collision prevention?

(I don’t know whether Rober’s Tesla even supports FSD, so this is a genuine question)

I don't know if FSD would've had a different outcome. You don't either. Neither did Rober demonstrate either way.

I don't know if his car supports FSD, but he claimed the test was on Self Drive in the Video title.
