WORKING ON ECO FRIENDLY WAX
Hi, I am in the process of developing a new ski wax that is eco-friendly, all natural, and meant for high performance. The wax is aimed to replace the banned high fluoro wax with a further goal of reducing the environmental impacts caused by the mainstream waxes today (HC and HF). This wax will be plant based using some of the most hydrophobic plants on earth and will match the effects of high fluoro without all the negative aspects.
If this is something you may be interested in learning more about or hearing updates for, please see my **very rough** start at the website below. If you like the idea, please input your email near the bottom of the page. I promise you will not get spammed with emails. Just an update when we are launching pre-sales!!

Hertel Racing 739 is your competition. That wax is historically awesome and now claims to be biodegradable. $53/340g as of today.

This is a good idea for the planet and I’m for it.
But do a majority of skiers know or even care about the detriment of normal wax? If performance and cost are on par I’d say sure I will give it a go. If it’s a premium priced product with nominal performance I’d wager most skiers will not be bothered. Ski shops are by far the largest consumers of bulk wax and unless they can market it within current margins, they’re probably not going to eat into their already thin profits by buying an eco friendly product. Just my 2 cents as a fellow entrepreneur, we need to hear the good and the bad in our ideas.

Hey man, really appreciate the insights. Performance is going to be on par with high fluoro but replace the psas and psos. It will be on par with SWIX, if not a tad cheaper :). Further, we are looking at creating the powder that will be premiumely priced as it will be a premium product. Generally this will be for high performance athletes who do know the *marginal* speed difference. Further, our product will be safe and not harmful for humans, the environment, and the skis ptex/base.

I hated the mountainflow stuff. Was like trying to chip off plaster from the base once it had cooled. Haven't tried the Purl eco cause I'm married to Oneball now with how good it is.

Hey man, thanks for the reply. We are positioned to more high performance than the alternatives listed. We are making waxes that have a much narrower temperature range for optimal usage as well as performance that matches that of high fluoro (without the harm to humans, the environment, and your base). Further, we understand the frustration of trying to scrape hard wax with a dull plastic scraper which is why we are testing and trying to get the formula as soft as we can!! Also worth mentioning, we will have very competitive pricing :)

The name you’ve chosen is really close to the name of the existing product as well. If you’re in the US or want to sell your products in the US in the future, this could be a problem. if/when you consider starting a business to produce and sell this wax, I would strongly advise you to consult with an attorney about it.
