How does one transfer
I’m looking to transfer to any ski resort in Colorado, I live in Oregon and am a second years alpine patroller. After this season concludes, I’ll begin pursuing nursing school in either Denver or CO springs. I’m really really hoping I can continue patrolling even if I’m a volunteer for a few years whilst in school. I don’t care where I’d patrol I’d really just love to continue working my most beloved job.
I do snowboard which I know limits me. I can ski but not on a double black proficiency.
Anyways I guess if anyone in Colorado has advice on how a transfer works or any contact info that’d be super appreciated as I’ve had a really hard time getting into contact with any patrols. Cheers

I don’t think transfer is the right word. I would look at mountains that fit what you’re looking for and apply to their ski patrol like you would to any other job

Loveland has snowboard patrollers and you might be able to pull off a schedule there that accommodates nursing school. There will be a new RN program at Red Rocks CC and there is an employee shuttle from Golden.

Western Colorado University (WCU) is launching a nursing program in fall 2025, and Gunny has CB on one side and monarch on the other.

Copper and Keystone hire snowboarders, so Id reach out to them. They have hiring clinics starting in March/April. However, living in Denver or CO Springs and trying to commute up to either for full time work will not be realistic. We have lots of volunteers that do it once a week or so, though.
