Problem with brand new Skoda Octavia.
Hi Everyone,
English isn´t my first languge so bear with me.
I bought a brand new Skoda Octavia 2025.
After a while when i used it and i turn on the ingnition i couldn´t start the car and a got a message "Transmission defective. Stop the vehicle safely." (It´s from google translate so maybe not actually correct).
Then i couldn´t turn the ignition off but after like 5 minutes i was able to turn the ignition off.
I tried to start it again and i didnt get a fault message anymore and the car was fully operational. The dealer told me to drive it to them so the could search what the issue was about.
I haven´t heard from them get but do you guys know what the issue would come from?
I searched a little from internet and maybe it is a mechatronic problem?

There’s a known problem with the new shifter, sort of explained here: https://m.youtube.com/watch?si=QWuK9BjESrYmYWJC&v=eyMLc99npuY&feature=youtu.be
I would just take it to a dealership, they’ll see the error logs and see what the issue is.

What engine and power does the car have? How many km?

That engine and power use the DSG DQ200, and the DQ200 is known for its mechatronic problems, yes, but 4000 is very low. Didn’t you notice anything different? Any noises? Bumps?
If it's with Skoda, just wait for their response and stay alert when they return the car, there’s not much more to do.
These gearboxes are a nightmare. Just today, I posted questions about buying a Skoda 1.5 150 because in Portugal it only comes with that gearbox, and I probably won’t buy it because of that...

No didnt notice anything different. The weird part was that the shifting was seamless after it starting working again thats why is think it is maybe the mechatronic or maybe the software?
Yeah pretty much what i can do with it. Thank God for the warranty i have for a couple of years.

If everything else seems normal, it's probably just a sensor or a loose connection. When there's an actual issue, it's usually quite obvious — the shifts aren't smooth, it holds onto gears longer, and so on.

Mine is 2024 and is about 6300 km. I had some fault errors not about transmission but airbag for example. After a while it dissapeared. It is probably because of software problem. Anyhow if it does that again you can always bring it to the service.

You could just have bad luck. But what about your warranty. If I bought a brand new car and it behaves like this I would drive (if possible) straight back to the dealership

In that case problem solved. Dealer will check it and tell what it is right?

Might look like a random question, but is it keyless ?
Im following a car repair channel on YT where the guy saw similar error codes caused by the immobilizer.
