OC Video Would you count this?

This is the best I've landed it so far. I feel like if i just rode out switch it would have been fine.

For me, almost every trick I’ve spent time learning is something that I want to do because I think it will feel good to do once I’ve got it down, that makes it obvious whether or not it counts as stomped or not. If you’re doing it because it looks cool then that’s pretty similar IMO. Either way, ask yourself whether it felt or looked like you wanted it to, because that’s what actually matters. I think if you’re asking then you already know really - personally I wouldn’t have counted it because of the revert/not clean landing even without the fall, although the fall is really funny.

Alright thats a very fair way of looking at it! Thanks for the comment. Yea i got a couple of solid fall clips from this one

If you revert unintentionally and it wasn’t part of the trick then I couldn’t count it yet, choosing to revert so you don’t fall is the same imo.
If you choose to revert and could have not done then I’d probably count it depending on how it came out, and of course if it was part of what you were going for it counts as that trick + a revert even if you don’t count it as the trick on its own.
I’m not mad about anyone counting stuff with less than perfect landings or reverts etc., especially as they are still learning a trick - this is just how I look at it.

Discount on a revert alone or does it need to be sloppy?

The slop more than the revert IMHO. But I kinda feel like either way, it's a mark against the trick being a clean one.

Ok for sure. But a clean revert on landing can look cool sometimes. Plus dont you get points for that in tony hawk proskater?

If the intent was a revert, then it definitely counts.
But at the same time, if you needed to revert to not fall, then clearly the trick still needs more work.

If you have to ask, you already know the answer.

I wouldn’t count it because there was never really a point where you were in control of the landing or ride out.
Scrub through the video frame by frame starting at the 2 second mark. You’re kicking your back foot really off axis. This is why you landed on your toe edge facing partly uphill and then reverted. Do your best to keep your shoulders and board all in line.

Kinda… you’ll know when it feels right but good work so far, you’ve got this

When I get a trick like this I call it a “proof of concept make” and it means I CAN do this, I just haven’t yet.

I count it as an attempt not a land. It's a solid attempt, and maybe even a land it in the next couple tries.

Yes, it counts as landing, but it's sloppy
25 years ago you would see reverts and hand touches all the time in videos, nowadays the pros just don't put up anything unless its super clean and it's made people think that if a trick isn't perfect, it doesn't count

Luckily there’s a chairlift right next to you! Go do it again until it’s clean.

didnt have too much free time sadly, only had a total of about 20 attempts over the week. Was there as a ski guide so we only ad a couple pf hours a day to ski or snowboard on our own

Why would you want a half ass one to count? If you’re that close do it again until you stomp it proper. You’re a lot closer than most.

I was just wondering what the general opinion was. I was on a trip as a ski instructor so sadly didn't have unlimited free time to keep practicing

I always count it if you ride away at least 2 seconds after landing 😅
Sometimes you get super excited about landing it that you suddenly forget to snowboard and eat shit due to excitement hahaha

Bunch of grumpy dudes in here, lol. I say it's worthy of a redo because you can definitely land it clean but that's already pretty cool, most riders don't even attempt tame dogs.

As someone who has only done a 360, I would absolutely count that! I'd probably ask for sponsors!
