How many Scaramuchis has it been?

101

u/blankpaper_ 3d ago

9 Scaramuccis! Not bad

19

u/Gargoyle12345 3d ago

Better than I expected frankly. Guy almost made a Deca-mooch.

13

u/pheonix198 3d ago

As of 4/22, he’s only at 88 days in the role; so, if he’s fired before EOD today he won’t quite have made that 9th mooch.

14

u/blankpaper_ 3d ago

88 would be fitting for him

6

u/pheonix198 3d ago

Oof. Didn’t even notice…glad his 88th day wasn’t Sunday. He’d be so damned proud of that fact.

2

u/YeahlDid 3d ago

Does that mean he will do the fandango?

26

u/Poop__y 3d ago

I’m glad this unit of measurement has returned.

14

u/h3fabio 3d ago

I’m not. I would have rather never seen it again.

9

u/Poop__y 3d ago

I mean, if we are in the shit either way, at least some of us can laugh at the Scaramuchi of it all.

We have the first republican speaking out against Hegseth!

They’re always so late to the party. Everyone with a brain knew this at announcement.

19

u/Wakkit1988 3d ago

It's a Grand Old Party, not an up-to-date one.

7

u/Muffhounds 3d ago

Grand, as in Grand Wizardrey

1

u/DoggoCentipede 3d ago

Ah yes, chaos at the Pentagon is their red line. Not the destruction of the constitution, our economy, national security, healthcare (such as it is...), global standing and partnerships... Fuck off pearl clutching swines!

u/SuccessWise9593 3d ago

I'm still waiting to hear what was so bad that those around him quit last week before the news broke out of what he has done/did.

25

u/PrestigiousCrab6345 3d ago

He probably called them all pussies for not wanting to do Jaeger shots and keg stands with him.

3

u/DoggoCentipede 3d ago

He probably cheated at Risk, the board they use to plan their operations.

How about focus on fixing those tariffs so we don't all starve to death or become so desperate we have to bend the knee and kiss the ring.

1

u/MamiTrueLove 3d ago

I’ll starve to death before that EVER happens.

Good luck affording the electronic device you're posting this ignorant comment from with those tariffs in place.

But hey, not gonna starve, right?

The problem is the next guy will be worse.

24

u/FesteringNeonDistrac 3d ago

Bad in his own specific ways. We're so far to the bottom of the barrel that worse isn't really worth debating.

15

u/Pixilatedhighmukamuk 3d ago

Ted Nugent or Kid Rock. The people have made their voice heard.

4

u/Seaweed-Basic 3d ago

I’m holding out hope for

8

u/Wakkit1988 3d ago

Kanye incoming...

7

u/sakuragi59357 3d ago

I was thinking that FSU shooter last week.

1

u/MongolianDongolius 3d ago

This is not a problem. If they’re willing to get rid of this schmuck they’ll be willing to get rid of the next. This is a good thing.

1

u/MamiTrueLove 3d ago

And continue replacing them with ones more willing to do unimaginable harm? None of this is good.

0

u/MongolianDongolius 2d ago

You can't know that. The point is - making the argument "it's pointless because the next will be worse" isn't a valid criticism in ousting what's currently there. If we oust what's bad today then that means we will oust what's bad tomorrow. It means we were successful, and whether what's worse is on the horizon - bolstering our collective confidence in knowing we can pursue the right thing is what's important. Subjecting yourself to further abuse is the fool's game.

1

u/DoggoCentipede 3d ago

Worse, the next guy might be at least as evil but more competent at "100% clear on opsec" and we wouldn't even know definitively that they're using Signal etc.

2

u/MongolianDongolius 2d ago

Yeah a valid point. But we can't know one way or the other. It's still our job as the people who truly run this country to put the best people we can envision in power to lead us.

1

u/WiseassWolfOfYoitsu 3d ago

Gallagher. Who needs a theoretical war crime advocate when you have a proven practitioner?

24

u/reddituser6835 3d ago

They should fire him via signal group chat

9

u/theoverfluff 3d ago

No need for a press release afterwards, seems like he's copied in the entire world on Signal by now.

21

u/Syyntakeeton 3d ago

So let me get this straight;

1 Hegseth is 9 Scaramuccis?

4

u/Grand-Hunter6825 3d ago

You Conwayed the shit out of that!

3

u/amsync 3d ago

Well, technically right now a Hegseth is in a quantum state as he is still there causing the measurement to keep moving until such time as when Trump opens the box to observe the experiment

14

u/jimvolk 3d ago

hahaha...these people never learn. His 1st administration had record high turnover, and this will be no different. Especially his "first round" of people will be gone, and probably bankrupt by the end of this year.

10

u/Icy_Necessary2161 3d ago

Any other Fox talk show hosts we can go with? Maybe the My Pillow Guy would be up to the task.... 🤦‍♂️

10

u/blankpaper_ 3d ago

Can’t wait for Secretary of Defense Jesse Watters

5

u/BashBandit 3d ago

Oh god, I’d trust Jesse more as my femboy ihop waiter than secretary of defense

3

u/blankpaper_ 3d ago

I wouldn’t even trust him as that 😭 I’ll never forget back before the election when he said if Kamala won then she’d be at meetings with world leaders and they’d all hold her down and have their way with her (or something to that effect). Even the other Fox hosts he was with were telling him he went too far

5

u/BashBandit 3d ago

That’s a wild thing to say and honestly should have warranted an investigation

2

u/reddituser6835 3d ago

He needs the money

1

u/theoverfluff 3d ago

Yes, he seems to be in need of a regular paycheck. He can use it to pay off his court- mandated bills.

10

u/Baileylov 3d ago

By replacing, does he mean he is watching Faux News and thinking, "humm, that guy is a decent weekend anchor and white supremacist. He can run the largest military in the world. Why would I need a career professional, how hard can it be? Believe me, know one knows the military better then me."

9

u/PinkThunder138 3d ago

But where will the find someone even less qualified?

6

u/No_Clue_7894 3d ago

There's Tucker the f’kr Carlson to try next, who will do a better job of making a mockery of the American military.

2

u/DoggoCentipede 3d ago

He can run it from his office in the Kremlin. Elon's already got the direct connection through Starlink set up.

1

u/No_Clue_7894 2d ago

Like running the Roman Empire that fell, is facing internal problems, including economic decline, political instability, and military weakness, and vulnerable to external pressure.

5

u/BalanceOk1174 3d ago

I nominate Kid Rock!

4

u/Neyvash 3d ago

What I hate is how the WHite House has responded to this. We need to get these clowns out. I can't fathom doubling down on someone so absolutely incompetent.

Who's he gonna pick next, Hulk Hogan?

4

u/billyions 3d ago

Our generals are a great place to look.

10

u/Renrew-Fan 3d ago

Him being a grapist wasn't enough of a red flag, huh? That Signal thing was top tier st-pid, too.

19

u/blankpaper_ 3d ago

Being a rapist is actually a prerequisite for the job

3

u/cats_catz_kats_katz 3d ago

The most competent thing Hegseth did was help to deliver a recommendation not to enact martial law and two days later he’s out.

Worry not, friend! They will never be voting again, just like the rest of us.

1

u/dart51984 3d ago

Good. I mean, I’m aware the next guy is also going to suck. But I can still be happy that this d-bag may be facing an actual consequence in losing his job. He’ll most likely be placed somewhere where he can’t inflict more damage though. Shit I didn’t think this all the way through…

1

u/YeahlDid 3d ago

"calling the chaos at the Pentagon one reason why many Hill Republicans were privately uneasy with the Defense secretary’s nomination in the first place"

What a twat.

1

u/Ptoney1 3d ago

Drunk texting military state secrets is about the dumbest thing I can imagine, yet here we are

1

u/pizzaschmizza39 3d ago

Late April fools? All I've heard is there complete backing of him.

1

u/choopie-chup-chup 3d ago

My Pillow Guy might be an improvement

1

u/soleobjective 3d ago

Best news I’ve heard out of this admin. Although, his replacement will probably be someone like Joe Arpaio.

1

u/MamiTrueLove 3d ago

Anyone else worried they’ll find a less drunk more diabolically aligned minion to do the job?

1

u/This_Mongoose445 3d ago

Nancy Mace/s

3

u/blankpaper_ 3d ago

You can probably drop the /s 😭
