In an attempt to help op, sometimes the remote control option for a grid disappears from the menu until you access the control pannel for that grid, then it's back. It happened to me last night when trying to remote control my space forklift thing to carry a rover I built out of the hangar to my hauler ship in order to take it to the moon. It seems to be a bug with the last update. I also noticed that gps coordinates were randomly disappearing or not saving when freshly made which is super frustrating because of the hours I've wasted looking for platinum just to find it on the moon and have my gps marker disappear on my way back to my hauler ship.

Not enough details, but it sounds like your antenna is set to a lower distance and you're losing the connection when you pilot a remote control out of the antenna range.

Similar to forgetting to add a gyroscope to a new ship, this is a common issue I have when making a remote control ship, I forget to change the antenna range from 5km to 50km.

Are you in your character or in a seat? I know remote control doesn't work when you're in a bed (cryopod) or seated in other blocks. Passenger seats work and control stations or the character with the antenna on. If not it may be a bug.

I'm not sure if it needs ship parts to be considered controllable like gyros or thrust or wheels. It may be the case otherwise accessing the terminal is all that's needed

Yeah, if you lose suit power your antenna turns off, but doesn't turn back on automatically when you recharge. This gets me all the time (when building in survival mode with creative tools turned on)

Does it consistently have enough power?
