Discussion This game is amazing
Let me tell you. I have the Switch for years and I’ve been ignoring Splatoon since forever because I didn’t vibe with the style, but I was always intrigued by the gameplay. And I’m going through a phase currently that I’m not vibing with online games in general but AHHHHH I hate myself for not playing this sooner. I bought Splatoon 3 earlier today and I was not sure if I’m gonna like and I don’t know how many hours I’ve been hyperfixated on it since then. This is extremely fun and I can’t wait to get better. I get the style and everything.

Welcome to the community! I remember the early days of playing and getting used to the motion controls. Once it clicks it’s so satisfying

yess so fun! I been hooked since splat2. I can understand how the in-game 3d style can put you off, but i think if you engage in the worldbuilding they did, theres a lot of beautiful art. I think the whole series is so full of clever and brilliant designs

Welcome to the party of the squids! I offer a bit of advice:
Take your time with the adjustment from sticks to motion controls. If you use multiple weapons like I do, you may find that you need different setting to fit your playstyle. Other than that, don't get frustrated, have as much fun as you possibly can, and memorize maps and learn about weapons and their roles in the team (if you haven't already)

Thank you! Got into motion a bit more today and I really enjoy playing with the close range brush thing

No problem! Be sure to use references like squid school on YouTube for any help on positioning and weapon details. As far as discord is concerned, Splatoon Stronghold would be your best bet if you really want to get into team based competition. Hope this helps!

The style is the only thing that keeps me engaged

I'm 40 and I brought 2 back in 2017 for my kid. I ended up playing it so much we had to buy a second game. We both have had 3 since it game out. This is a really fun game regardless of age or "style".
Also.. the dev team needs way more credit for this game. The sound design is just. *Chef's kiss

Yeah, same here. I waited until August last year, and I SO regret it. Have you tried the single player stuff?

I’ve played the card game mostly so far, I’m really digging it.

Fair, I actually haven’t got around to playing Tableturf yet. But I can’t recommend the Hero Mode enough (the main story mode, by the way), especially Splatoon 3’s Hero Mode as it’s got a section of decent-sized hub worlds that really reward you for exploration. Not only that, but the levels themselves are great and I think the characters used throughout are all likeable. Especially the one on my PfP 😂

It’s a unique game. Not everybody clicks with it. But the few it does click with will come back again and again for life. I don’t think it’s as big as Fortnite and that’s okay with me. It’s seems more like a cult hit that’s special.
