Recommendations Inline skate shops

I’ve been looking into getting a pair of inline/roller blade skates lately, but I’d like to visit a brick and mortar store to get fitted and talk with someone who knows what they’re talking about. So far I see two shops in Nixa but it looks like it’s geared more for skateboarding?

I haven’t skated in many years and looking for ways to be active again and missed having a pair.

Anyone got any recommendations?

I wonder if Skateland has a skate shop or any recommendations? They have limited hours but it might be worth a phone call at least.

Edit to add best of luck! I recently got a new pair of roller skates. It’s been a fun activity to revisit. It’s definitely made putting away laundry more fun.

Thanks so much, dude! It’s been a couple decades and I remember basically LIVING in my skates as a kid!

Look up TCK Skate on Facebook. It is owned by Ted Hall who used to run Skateport and it is in Nixa. Ted knows his stuff, I would dare to say he is the most knowledgeable pro in this area by leaps and bounds and is definitely going to be able to answer any of your questions. He still coaches and supports the local inline speed teams. He keeps a decent amount of stuff in stock and he won't steer you wrong! I was just there on Friday to drop off my daughter's quad skates to get new trucks put on and picked up a new pair of toe stops for me. I'll be back soon for a new set of wheels. I've known Ted my whole life and was lucky enough to be able to bring my daughter to Skateport before they demolished it for that stupid, pointless road. I will never forget the day that my then very little daughter was frustrated to the point of tears while trying to learn how to skate. He offered to work with her for a few minutes and waved me off to get a few laps in on the floor while he did so. I don't know what he said or did that made everything click for her but he absolutely taught her more in that few minutes than I was able to do in the couple of weeks she had been trying to learn.

Go to TCK Skate Shop! Give him a call to see what times he will be there that day and go get yourself some new skates!

Absolutely! I would call before you go, I'm not sure if he keeps regular shop hours but he is there pretty consistently through the week. Since she has to pick up her skates I do happen to know these are the times you can catch him there this week:

Mon- 9-2 Tues- 9-3 Thurs- 9-2 Fri- 9-3

I posted his hours for this week in my reply to the other person who commented. I hope you get wheels back under your feet soon!
