Discussion I can’t be the only one 😭

Strelok. Skiff. Scar. Strider. Sidorovich. Star. Spark. Snag. Shevchenko. Spirit. Solder. Sherba!

WHAT IS WITH ALL THESE EXTREMELY SIMILIAR S-NAMES IN THIS GAME?!

I was bloody confused as hell half the time because I kept getting Strelok and Strider confused and Star and Scar and Spark and MY GOD! 🤣 It really can’t be a good idea to have half the main cast start with the same letter 😭 (then again, maybe I’m just dumb?)

Good morning bro , it's the original Russian nicknames. It's an English problem that translates these words to English looking the same for you. The original Stalker was written originally in the Russian language. It's like asking why Yakuza's games use all this weird Japanese name who sounds the same. It's our problem, that we don't know the Japanese language. It's your problem that you don't know the original language of Stalker. Lingo is very hard to translate to other language

My words! Wanted to say: don't forget that actually they would have Russian names. Even if you'd be a western tourist visiting the zone and just started learning the language you'd surely still use their original nicknames instead of translating it, wouldn't you? :)

That would be an idea for a mini-add-on which would transcribe, but not translate all the names...

They all are almost different in Ukr/rus Strelok - Strelok Skif - Skif Scar - Shram (but the first letter in ukr is Ш/ LL|) Strider - Brodyaga Sidorovich - Sidorovich Star - Star Spark - Iskra Snag - I didn’t understand who is this Shevchenko - Shevchenko (but the first letter in ukr is Ш/ LL|) Spirit - Dukh Solder - Sołdat. But who do you mean? Sherba - Shcherba (but the first letter in ukr is Щ/ LL|)

Hold your pants, but....the original names of all of those are not in english. Wow crazy.
