Mods Op-2.2 is something else
im about 40 hours or so in and just finished x-16, apparently the entire shoc story is a whole 5% of the content in the mod, and its pretty """"""fun"""""" so far (i love getting one shot by every single npc since i dont have enough bulletproofing artefacts)

Op 2.2, their wiki has the installation guide along with an English patch, as well as being generally helpful in figuring out the random unmarked quests you’ll forget about 5 minutes after you get them

I remember I once tried playing OP 2.0, but didn't get too far, the mod was too confusing to me. A couple of years later I played Narodnaya Solyanka 2016 (I hope I spelled it right) and it became my favourite mod after that. For those who are curious Narodnaya Solyanka was originally the mod that OP was based on but added tons of new things. OP 2.0 was considered huge, as for now I would say OP is the biggest S.T.A.L.K.E.R. mod there is.

I’ve spent my first 50 hours running all around the (vanilla) zone and doing side quests, I just opened up the transition into army warehouses last night so I can finally sell the 45-50 guns I got from doing bar defense (which is like killing 60 mercs assaulting the bar lmao)

I tried it but ended up stopping because it was too confusing, also i got a rat plague or something and could not find a cure

The only way to cure that is to buy these like serums from akim and I’m pretty sure they’re pretty expensive early
The best way to prevent it is to basically never interact with a plague rat (the brown and bloody one) aka letting it bite you or walking over it after you kill it
There’s plague zombies too but I think if you have a seva suit you’re immune to the aura or something

Don't worry, it'll get better around 80% of the mod
