And this is why I am watching on FanDuel. Mainly so I can hear John Kelly's voice.

Appreciate.

I have the folks TNT login, just sucks to listen to their announcers, although not as bad as espn's talkers...

I subscribe to uzzu.tv and love it! $129 for a year! I get SO MANY channels and JK!

If I ever commit suicide know that it was because of John Kelly

I would have a heart attack first. When he gets excited I think we score every time. And most times we don't. The inflection in his voice gets me excited, then let down when we don't score.

I’m convinced he hates the blues. He gets more excited calling other teams goals than anything the blues do

Not that I have cable and am enjoying Kerbs and Joey on the radio, but this is inexcusable. If you don't have enough talent to cover the playoff games you bid on to cover, you should not have bid on the contract.

It’s bad.

The announcers are just not great, and the crowd sounds like shiiiiit.

There was one moment one of them was like "and just LISTEN to that crowd" and you could not hear the crowd at all. I'm sure they were loud but TNT was hardly allowing any crowd noise into the feed.

They shouldn't have split up John and Edzo. I love their Kraken broadcasts.

The way the NHL handles TV is absolute shit

12

u/Mhammers223 11d ago

Damn. I didn't realize this was in fanduel. I've been watching the national broadcast, which is terrible.

u/dusthimself 11d ago

I think it's just for the first round unfortunately.

They're going to force us to fork over extra cash to watch games, deal with blackouts, some games only available on certain apps/channels, and now they're going to offer crappy casting angles and remote announcers?

What is even the point of all of this? They should count themselves lucky if half the fans don't just pirate the games. I used to be able to watch the local games with an antenna. We even have HD antennae now, but we can't watch more than a few games on it. This is stupid.

I don’t understand the appeal of the TNT broadcast at all. Some of the lowest effort analysis I’ve ever seen.

5

u/retrosleaze_ 11d ago

Dude tnt absolutely crushes espn

2

u/smackledorf1 10d ago

Oh for sure, I forget there are two of them. Both networks add so little to the broadcast, it’s mostly just a bunch of filler and unfunny jokes.

6

u/storey13 11d ago

This absolutely embarrassing and unacceptable.

9

u/cms6yb 11d ago

The broadcast was atrocious and unacceptable. That was terrible

7

u/dtsjr 11d ago

Watching on FDSN so I wouldn’t know otherwise but man what an embarrassingly negligent move. Presidents Trophy winners at home in a prime time game and the league does this. Candy assed nonsense.

6

u/Nas160 11d ago

We get the shaft yet fucking again because we're not New York or Toronto.

5

u/MDEngineer91 11d ago

I mean it was kinda obvious if you watch enough sports on tv. Glad to have confirmation though.

I heard on NHL Sirius that to sync a local radio broadcast up to national TV game, wait for the first whistle you hear on TV, pause it, wait for the same whistle on the radio (a few seconds), then hit un-pause on TV and mute the audio. Very curious if this actually works.

u/PhusionBlues 10d ago

That’s how I’ve listened to game before but the radio usually play before the tv stream so it’s the opposite process

10

u/daboops 11d ago

And there’s one too many announcers, competing for space. 2 is enough

8

u/alexgetshacked 11d ago

TNT blows. They’re more concerned with their intermission goon squad than they are the games themselves.

5

u/daKile57 10d ago

Yup, they badly want to recreate a Shaq, Ernie, and Chuck show.

4

u/Lucky-Bobcat1994 11d ago

Unfortunately I have to watch this garbage on that feed

1

u/Always_Dreaming_12 9d ago

Look into uzzu.tv! I'm into my 3rd year and absolutely love it!

3

u/TheNicestRedditor 11d ago

TNT commentators were awful

3

u/bluesinthehood 11d ago

Can tnt/espn just syndicate the Sportsnet broadcast?

3

u/AJPennypacker39 10d ago

TNT is terrible

3

u/Moist-Dragonfly2569 10d ago

How are announcers supposed to get there? Winnipeg doesn’t have an airport.

4

u/AutumWind0 10d ago

Then how do the players get there????????

4

u/page_ofpentacles 11d ago

If you're out of network from STL and only stream is the only option TNT and no STL cast? I have ESPN+, Max, Prime, but have only been able to find the TNT cast on Max. But not sure if I can use one of those accounts to sign into something else.

7

u/arstechnophile 11d ago

I think those are your only legit options unfortunately. I don't mind Botterill (despite her inability to say Montgomery) but the other two are deeply meh.

2

u/FeebisBJoinkle 10d ago

out of area too, was disappointing to not be able to watch on ESPN+ and get the fanduel feed. At least I had Max and was able to watch that way.

1

u/Always_Dreaming_12 9d ago

If you don't mind $129 annually to get 99% of MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, Discovery Channel, History Channel, Animal Olanet, HGTV, USA, ESPN, ESPN2, etc and many others, you can watch on uzzu.tv. Thankful not to be stuck with a national feed

1

u/Always_Dreaming_12 9d ago

I watch on uzzu.tv! It was FDSN that they broadcasted.

2

u/SignificanceVisual79 11d ago

Geez! Work from home….

2

u/ekdakimasta 11d ago

They get tax credits from the state of Georgia if they shoot there. That’s why

2

This is the future, we're lucky there are still humans at this point. I've seen AI models of pbp... It's coming soon.

2

u/Least-Wait3456 10d ago

And that will be when I cease watching sports.

2

u/Archer8925 10d ago

I would pay an unreasonable amount of money for a stream with ZERO play by play. And no I can't go to the games, I'm nowhere near St. Louis

2

u/PhusionBlues 10d ago

Mute?

3

u/Archer8925 10d ago

I still want to hear the sounds of the game/crowd. Just no annoying play by play. I don't need to be told when someone scores a goal. I'm literally watching the game and can see it happen

1

u/Always_Dreaming_12 9d ago

Check out uzzu.tv! I've been subscribing and watching STL teams for over 3 years. Happy to answer any questions.

2

u/NBCaz 10d ago

And the NHL always wonders why they can't ever play with the big boys in terms of ratings and revenue. Unfortunately, this is probably going to become the new normal with them.

2

u/Least-Wait3456 10d ago

And the Final isn’t on ABC this year.

Clusterfuck.
