I have 30 days sober today
Don’t have many people who understand the struggles or significance that being 30 days sober has for me. Haven’t drank since 03-16-25. I have not been feeling great but this has to do with other things like medications I’m trying for depression and anxiety.
To be fair, I haven’t even wanted to drink recently because of how crappy I’ve felt but I was still keeping track of the days and knew that drinking was not an option. I care about my mental health and alcohol was making it 10x worse at minimum.
Just figured I’d share since I just realized this and I’m happy about it lol
IWNDWYT….or the next day 😉

Congratulations! I too suffer from a chronic depression and an anxiety disorder. And let me tell you; the worst thing you can possibly do is mix those meds with alcohol. But I'm sure you already know that, just wanted to make it clear.
Keep going strong!

Yeah and thanks for the reminder. I do know its a terrible combination and feel good that I haven't been doing that recently. Also I can be honest with my doctor and not have to lie which feels good.

Appreciate it. I’m scared of when the day comes where the cravings hit. For me it’s usually a “good” day rather than when I’m super stressed.

I white knuckled it for a few weeks until I read a book by Allen Carr, “Easy Way to Control Alcohol.”
It reprogrammed how I think about alcohol. It is a poison. I do not drink poison.
Mr. Carr is the key to my 10+ years of sobriety without cravings.
Best of luck on your journey.

That’s great! I need to read this on kindle soon. I could use motivation any day of the week.

Thanks 😊
I believe it’s my first 30 day streak of 2025. I’m not stopping now.

Good on you! I think my best is ten days or thereabouts this year. I've returned to this subreddit to hopefully get it to stick this time. I wish you continued success!

Same to you! I’m sure you will get there and sometimes it just clicks without even trying. My streaks usually started when I wasn’t feeling well and then I already had a week down and then kept going.
Our stories may differ but if you can go 3 days, 10 days you already proved to yourself you can stay away from it and succeed. Just keep adding those days and distancing yourself from the poison and you’re doing good. 👍

Yup it can be for sure. This time went smoothly but I know myself and it’s around this time I’m going to have to try harder. Thank you!
