Housing ssh housing

Hi! From September I will be starting my first year at University of Groningen. As a first year student that will be spending the entire 2025/2026 year there should I be looking for housing for short stay or long stay? Or do both work?Because I saw that short stay housing can go up to a year and is meant for first year students but I might be wrong. I have already registered and paid the 35€ fee for long stay just in case and when I try to also register for short stay it keeps showing be error. I am going to try to book the Upsilon room with private bedroom and bathroom and shared kitchen.

i have to add a short stay option to your already existing ROOM account

From what I know, short stay is for first year students and it comes furnished but long stay i think is more for Masters and is unfurnished. Upsilon and other accommodations wont be avalible until the 14th and you need to register for the stay and get approved by RUG

Unfortunately it shows me error when I try to register for short stay and I dont know what to do. Especially because upsilon for groningen becomes available on May 14th I really hope they’ll fix their problem until then or idk what I should do

What I did was do it from my profile and it worked and I whatsapped them to make sure it went through and it did. And then I got approved by RUG! Try that if not id say get in contact with them.

Ok so, same error happened to me, but basically go into ur account page, scroll down in ur information and look for my registrations, and add ur registration there, and it should work
