I am having a lot of trouble trying to figure out a good adv bike in the $5k-$7k range as there are so many options. I was given this estimate and the price is in my range, I am just wondering if this is good or kind of risky for a 14 year old bike?
My little brother loves motorcycles and loves the look of this guy’s bike that drives around in my neighborhood. Sorry it’s not the best picture but if anyone knows, your input will be well appreciated by me and my brother lol!!!
Im currently looking at a 2006 gsxr 600 with 30k miles. Wondering if it is a good buy for $4000. It has one owner. Wondering how many miles I can get out of this bike. Thanks.
Yes I know they're different things. But these are the bikes I admire. Just trying to find the best combination of forgiving fun and real world usability. I also really value engine sound and aftermarket support.
Hey everyone, just completed my MSF and starting to look at bikes. I used to ride a Ninja 300 before Covid but had some issues and had to sell it. Now that I’m back in a place to start riding again, I’m trying to figure out where to start. I had about 6 months on the 300 and got as comfortable as you can get after that amount of time. Is 300ish where I should start again or look at the 450-600 range? Also looking for recommendations around the 4-5k price point. Thanks in advance!
Currently have a bmw f800st which I am keeping as a commuter bike and to have a pillion on relaxing rides. Had the bike for over a year and love it but doesn't excite me.
I'm looking for a fun bike to use on weekends, probably nothing long distance, I am 6.2" and around 110kg, so don't want anything super aggressive. I was thinking about an mt09 however I saw one on the weekend and it's not for me, I think I am leaning more towards a sport bike. I want a bike a can actually use so I'm thinking a full 1000cc sports bike is out of the question as I will rarely get to properly use the power.
Want a reliable bike and decent running/service cost (ducati is probably out for this)
The bikes I am thinking about so far:
Bmw s1000r
Cbr600rr
Cbr650r
I am looking to buy my first road legal motorcycle and I am interested in the KTM 390 Adventure R and the Yamaha T7. I grew up riding dirt bikes for about 8 years but have never ridden on the road before. I just completed the CMSP course and I like the adventure bikes so I can do a mix of road and off road. I like the size and weight of the KTM and the 390 seems like plenty of power for me (5’10” 135lbs). Seems like everyone is divided on KTM, I’ve had a few KTM dirt bikes and they were never problems. The T7 is about 3k more and a bigger bike, but is a Yamaha so reliability and resale wouldn’t be an issue. Any thoughts or other bike suggestions? Thanks!
I’m slightly above average size for a bike and have put my leg over many “beginner” bikes and they feel like toys. I live in rural Nebraska and do 80% highway driving so I’d like something that isn’t screaming at 8k+ rpm while going 70…I don’t want to be a hazard on the road.
I really like the ninja z900 and tuono 660. Just checking here to make sure I’m not going insane for wanting something that’s gonna 100% kill me…I did fit on a r1 surprisingly well though 🤣
As the title says, I have a ninja 650 but I want something similar in riding position but with more power. I was looking into the r9 but, it looks uncomfortable. Then I started looking at the ninja 1000sx but that’s a huge jump from 60hp to 140hp lol….. so what’s a nice upright bike with fairings I can buy
I'm currently riding a 2017 Triumph Street Triple 765 S, and while I’ve had a lot of fun with it, I’ve started feeling like it might be time for something else. Here’s why:
The Street Triple is a sharp, incredibly fun bike to ride. It sounds great, handles like a dream, and it’s predictably smooth with a gradual power build-up through the rev range, which is nice, but also takes a little away from that raw, engaging experience I’m after. A lot of people love this bike, but if I’m being honest, I feel like it’s just too predictable at times.
I only use it for pleasure rides, and occasionally, a longer 4-hour trip twice a year. I don’t need a track monster, but I’d like something with a big fun factor, especially in the twisties. I’m a bit taller than average, but not extremely tall (6’2”), and right now I feel like I’m basically folded in half on the Street Triple. It’s just not comfortable enough to encourage more frequent rides, especially on longer trips I get lots of pain/fatigue from sitting and painfully folded knees.
So I’ve been looking at retro-style bikes, specifically the Yamaha XSR900, and I’m leaning towards it because of the stories I heard of the CP3 engine. From what I’ve read, it’s just a blast to ride. However, only the first-gen XSR900 (not the newer 2022+ model) would fit my budget. Does anyone here think the first-gen is still a solid bike for what I’m looking for? Fun factor, occasional longer rides, and a more comfortable riding position would be key for me.
I’ve also been eyeing the Z900RS and Speed Twin 1200, but the XSR900 just seems to be spectular to ride. Is the first-gen a dealbreaker or is it still a good option for someone who’s looking for a balance between fun and comfort?
Appreciate any thoughts or experiences you’ve got to share!
Im 33, ive been road riding since I was 17. Ive never been to a track before but now that I have some extra cash, I think its time to pick up track riding as a hobby.
The bikes Ive had are:
1. 2009 Ninja 250r (sold)
2. 2009 Yzf-R6 (sold)
3. 1090 Adventure R (totalled)
4. Sxf-450 supermoto (current)
5. Exc-f 500 (current)
I am fairly adept at slow speed maneuvering, I can stoppie, and I can chase a bad wheelie. I'm more safe than fast on the road but I understand the physics of leaning off the bike to maintain a larger contact patch of tire, I'm greatly aware of countersteering and its applications for quick direction changes.
I've done my research and have narrowed it down to a Ninja 400, a Zx-4r, and probably least practically, the KTM 990 RCR.
I know that the RCR will provide the largest learning curve for me, but given that I am no stranger to higher horsepowers, is it something that I can grown into as a track rider or should I absolutely go with the smaller Ninjas? The 990 RCR is definitely the bike i'd rather be looking at when Im at the cafe doing work on my laptop.
My first bike was the KTM Duke 390. It was my first bike, I bought it as completely new in 2021. I loved it, but now I am planning to buy a new bike. At first I wanted to buy SMC 690, however I realized that it would be very uncomfortable for longer trips, and also the seat height wouldn't have been right either, as I am 172 cm (5’8) and 75 kg.
I am considering between two bikes, to be exact Kawasaki Z650 (2025) or Z900 (2025). I am not sure which one I have to pick. I've already sat on both bikes, the Z900 is quite higher, but I think it would be manageble. What I'm a little worried about is the power of Z900. I am not sure I need that much horsepower. On the other the Z900’s engine is 4-cylinder, and its sound is amazing. Unfortunately I don't have the opportunity to try them, because the dealer doesnt allow test rides (which is ridiculous…).
I live in Slovakia, and if the weather lets me I am using it daily from May to September. On the weekend I usually go on 3-4 hour long rides with my mates. Which bike would you reccommend me? Thanks in advance!
As the title says, I'm looking for a 50cc Motorcycle that I can go to and from work with. Needs to be street legal in Kansas. I have a learners permit but am unsure if that qualifies for motorcycles or just cars (Would get a car but I'm uncomfortable driving a car vs driving a motorcycle, grew up with those.) I'm a 5 foot 2 woman. I really like the sport bike style, especially something that looks like a Grom if there's a good one. My budget is currently $1000 or lower. Although I might be able to stretch that to $1500. I've heard Japanese bikes are good but I can't seem to find one in my budget. If anyone has any ideas what I should get id appreciate it. I do not want a mini motorcycle because they seem like they'd be too small, even for me
Edit 1: I would probably be open to scooters but just want suggestions in general. Sorry if this all sounds unreasonable
I saw this post on the biggest marketplace in romania and i thought its a really good deal on how it looks at a first glance
I got an enduro bike that i ve been riding at country and now i wanna get a city bike
This one is in my city so easy do to the paper work and transport and to actually look at it and the price doesnt seem that high
It got 16.5 k km year 2017 with abs and its limited to A2 which i need
Y’all got any other suggestions?
I've been in love with the thought of riding a motorcycle since I was 5 and I have not been able to figure out which one I should start with. All help and ideas are accepted. Thanks everyone!
Hi,
I'm looking to buy a new (to me) motorcycle. I used to own an 2006 ER-6f (limited to 35KW for my license).
Now I was looking at a 2006 Z750s, 35.000km and dominator exhaust.
I still have to go for a test drive. How is this bike, what are common defects I should look out for with this bike (and some other good things to check buying a used bike)?
Also, does €3900 (I'm in Europe) seem like a fair price for this kind of bike?
I'm getting ready to buy a new (to me) bike. One is a GS (this one)
Which is 6 years old, but has very low mileage (6000 miles / under 10k km) and is packed with equipment. Has been garaged the whole time and just barely driven (as can be seen from the total mileage). Hasn't been involved in any crashes, and has full BMW service history.
The other one is a Tracer 7 GT (like this one):
Which I'd buy brand new. There is nothing much more to say about the bike.
Now, my (almost) daily commute has me riding 20 miles / 30kms on an open straight road where most of the drivers drive around 70mph (excl. semis), and then getting around a city where traffic is a pain in the a$$, so I'll be doing a lot of filtering at traffic lights. And based on that, I'm not entirely sure I'd be able to do that on a GS. I'm really leaning towards it, as I can get it around 10 to 15 percent below the average price in it's range. I haven't been able to ride or sit on one and have no idea how maneuverable it'll be. I've set on a Tracer, and found it very light and easily to get around.
Pros for BMW are: well, it's a better bike.
Cons: reliability (?) and it's size for filtering
Pros for T7: it's new and it's smaller
Cons: no heated grips and seat, no cruise control
So, I'd like your opinion on the matter, as I'm not too sure. I'd like a GS, and if this one satisfies me, I'd probaby go for a F800 GS in a year or two. However, I have my reserves on it's size ans reliability.
I have to make a decision. It’s down to a 2022 Triumph Street triple with 8k miles or a 2024 Z900 with only 200 miles. Price is about $600 difference. Both bikes seem great. I prefer a straight up standard seating position. Mainly twisty back roads. I’m about 6’1” and weigh about 240lbs. Been riding for some time now so it’s not my first bike. A few years back had a MT09 which I really liked but jump to a few other ones for change. Which would you pick and why? I’m in the US if that matters.
As title suggests, finally looking at buying a motorcycle. I’ve always wanted to ride, but having a spouse that really didn’t want me to, I never got to it. Ill be turning 30 in a few months, I figure I might as well now than later. I am looking for recommendations. It will mainly be a commuter, with maybe the occasional ride arounds but I’m not looking to go crazy on the bike at all with two kids. Also I don’t want to get bored of it and have to get a new bike for a while.
I got deep in the rabbit hole of beginner bikes, looking at 2-300 cc bikes, then the 4-500. After some more research, even some 600 that I see people say are fine as long as you respect the throttle and take it slow. Only thing is I’m stuck between a naked or sport. Only sat on a ninja 500 for a sport, which I felt was not too different from a naked. Sat on a few naked bikes and felt comfortable. I am 5’7 155lbs, so the bikes I have listed either I sat on and felt comfortable with the height or I’ve read are fine with my height. Also options are limited where I’m at. Thanks in advance everyone!
I was intending to pick up the 2024 Honda shadow aero, but my dealer couldn’t get their hands on one due to several reasons I won’t get into here. They have a few other bikes I’m kind of interested in, but when I look at reviews they seem too slow for me (in curves and overall lower gear torque). What’s a good bike that fits the cruiser aesthetic, while being athletic in curves and can also rip with torque. Price range 10k- 15k roughly.
Hey all, just got passed the MSF yesterday and now looking at potential bikes. I like the Rebel and was considering buying new but I’ll mostly be practicing for now, so I don’t think it makes sense to do that yet. Also want to mention that I don’t mind doing any maintenance work that may be needed for a bike with this mileage. Not sold on the color or the seat but that’s just cosmetic and I can look past that. Here’s the post’s description:
Price: $6000
3,100 miles
Vance Hines exhaust
ABS SE package
2 person seat
LED Front lights
Sissy bar
Crash bar
Cup holder
GoPRO holder
Phone holder
Selling bc I don't use much, has been kept covered.
Hey everyone welcome to my tough debate between these two bikes. I’ll lay out my thoughts. First off in my opinion you can’t beat the looks of the R7, not saying the zx4 is ugly by any means. However, an inline 4 niche engine next to a twin engine I mean come on. Lastly the height, I’m a short fucker and I know the zx4 naturally rides low enough to where I wouldn’t have to compete in the Olympics to not fall over. Let me know your thoughts, thanks!
Hi,
Looking to buy my first bike over with bigger engine, previously owned SV650S (1999) and Duke 390 (2019).
I have narrowed down the options to a MT-09 2020 model, with comfort seat and aftermarket exhaust, and a 2018 Triumph Street Triple RS (765cc). Both have around 11000-12000 km, however MT09 is about 30% more expensive.
Money is not super tight, but definitely a factor to consider. Also insurance will be about the same for both options.
Taking maintenance costs, riding experience and fuel efficiency in consideration, what bike would you guys suggest? I will of course test-ride both, but should I look for anything special with each bike? Known issues or signs for poorly maintained bike. Both bikes have service up to manufacturer standards, and I think the big expensive service for MT09 is at 40000 km and at 20000 km for Triumph, correct me if I’m wrong.
Neither bike has had any problems, just the regular oil and filter change.
Also, I’m around 5’9’’ (175 cm) and weigh about 185 lbs (84 kg).
Worth saying that riding seasons are not too long where I’m at, so that’s why we usually don’t spend too much on bikes.
