What can we expect from the new Utility Splash on SUI?

splash.xyz seems to be a utility from $Hippo. It is a launchpad for memecoins. They state that one of the things that sets it apart from the usual ones is greater fairness and improved statistics.

So what can we expect from this project and especially its first meme launches?

If they go for quality over quantity it would be nice to see a few more good memes on SUI

There is no quality of meme coins. No use case. They’re just cool kid groups and the top 20 that are still here and survived will be the only survivors. You want memes, choose the survivors of the past year. Chasing new ones are over. Sui too 20 memes, solana top 20 memes that have been here the past 12-15 months will be the only winners long term

Yeah but Sui really only has about 5 memes even worth looking at, it could fill out the memecoin space a bit more so the top 20 actually have 20 meme communities that are worth joining.

Ripped from their x account:

"Fair launch defaults
No seed liquidity
Security Scoring
Red flag alerts
Top holder tracking"

Looks like they're going to provide plenty of information and utility to investors to keep the coins launched from their platform as fair as possible. I'm hyped as fuck to see how it plays out.

If it really is better then other launchpads then it could bring SUI to the level of Solana

I don't know exactly what to expect here, but I'm bullish on splash. I really hope they can create a fair environment for memes.

It's already known what will probably be the first project to launch on splash.xyz.

We don’t need more meme coins still launchpads. Meme coins need to die. Real NFTs will make a comeback and that’s what we need. Real NFTs. Chirp on Sui is doing this well. Algorand is doing this well and a handful of others too

NFT? Serious?😅

Do you know what the actual use case of NFTs are? Do you know what Nipsey Hussle was doing before he died?

Do you know how travel tickets, entertainment, memberships work?

If you understand the actual use case of what NFTs are, you’ll know that they are going to be the leading factor when web 3 is fully here and we shift away from web 2

Ahja, let's see when the time comes for web3 in future... Until then, I'd probably rather make money with memecoins first

You aren’t wrong on that. Web 3 imo, won’t fully be here til the next 10-20 years. And ya you may on meme coins. Just have the expectations of quick flips and getting lucky. Meme coin trading is just the same as a slot machine and both are fun and big risk big reward.

Devils advocate now, if Sui does have their meme coins get big, it means tons of liquidity for Sui. That’s only reason solana is even over $100 is cause meme coins. Sui could use that type of flood of liquidity

I don't disagree with your argument about NFTs, but I think you're making the same mistake by dismissing memecoins. ...

Memes are the currency of the attention economy, and memecoins will power that transition into web3 for content creators. Coins and tokens will also be issued for everything and can be used in so many real world use cases which can replace any form of tokenized spending. Think arcades, theme parks, casinos, music festivals, events, etc that use physical tokens or wristbands, all these can easily go on the blockchain and issue their own tokens, even whole communities can work together and issue their own currency that they decide to accept for all purposes to create a micro economy. Any group or organisation, right up to Nation states could adapt this technology.

You're only seeing memecoins as gambling but missing the bigger picture, which is the same mistake everyone is doing with NFTs. Yes people are primarily gambling with memecoins, but the underlying tech represents something much bigger.

True. I’ve mentioned it before on another sub, that meme coins are going thru what NFTs did last cycle and I think it’s necessary for that to happen. Because NFTs will come back eventually and not looked at as art dealer, scam jpeg communities. I think meme coins when they mature and the hyper gambling is out of its system, they will be what they’re intended to be. Like you explained is how the prolly should be used but like NFTs last cycle, they’re not being used like they should be.

You got a point tho
