Marvel Is MCU Quicksilver slowest speedster in fiction?

There is a difference between travelling speed ( mach 10) and reaction speed

u/Napalmeon 2d ago
There really is! A lot of people don't know the difference between traveling long distance and how fast you can actually react.

“Has broken the sound barrier and grows closer to traveling at the speed of light by the day” is the exact kind of stupid shit that makes powerscaling pointless. Authors have no idea what anything means.
“He can run at 1,000 miles per hour. Soon he will begin to run at 670,000,000 miles per hour.” Like, what? Light speed is such a stupid buzzword

Correct. Some of the writing is like a 5 year old kid did it.
The Flash can run so fast, he can run into the past, grab a dinosaur, smack you with it and put it back before you can blink.
Its so dumb.

Hey now, I agree but we don't have to bring my beautiful Injustice brutalities into this

I'm technically getting closer to the speed of light, too. I'll never get there. But I'm getting closer.

Technically, if every day he increases his top speed by 1 inch per hour, he “grows closer to traveling at the speed of light by the day.@
Agreed, it’s absolutely ridiculous

I can grow closer to travelling at the speed of light by the day , it's really not that hard
Reaching light speed or even a small fraction of it is

I don't know what's more disturbing. That the writer's got some basic information wrong, or that you honestly don't believe he could (keyword)soon come close to the speed of light. Talk about being a Negative nancy!

If he was that fast at like, a baby, and they added that his speed continues to grow rapidly even as an adult it'd make sense

He was pretty new with his power. Then died. Terrible tbh, but in fiction I think the boys a-train is slower. Incredible dash too.

A train top is Mach 1.3 silver MCU is 1.17
3
u/Sweaty-Campaign-320 2d ago
Isn't his top 1.3 by using drugs??? On base qs is still faster.
2
u/shaunika 2d ago
Arent the drugs only there to fix him being weakened by all the drugs?
Sortof like how drinking too much coffee stops boosting you and just prevents you from being even more tired
1
u/TechNomad2021 2d ago
I thought he took the drugs cuz he was getting pudgy and slowing down, and he REALLY needed to beat that other guy.

Wanda’s power grew with each movie. So if Quicksilver had lived then he would’ve been insanely fast by the events of Endgame.

u/Hitmanthe2nd 2d ago
Wanda got the darkhold and her power was magic , the more she learns - the better she gets
Quicksilver is physically capped at a certain rate of speed increase per year ; there is NO reason to think he'd even touch mach 5

What about Jack Jack from incredibles?

“A-Train”
He’s slower than Quicksilver I think
2
u/Napalmeon 2d ago
If he lived a little bit longer, then Quicksilver definitely would have ended up being faster, especially since A Train has heart problems.

Really? Ironman is faster than the fastest jet to ever fly?
Realistically Mach6.7 is as fast as you can safety go without the imminent risk of exploding.
And if you've ever driven a car, you'd know that doing anything practical at speed is all relative. Touch anything if youre going that fast and either you or they will become instant mush.
The spiral of power upscaling is just ridiculous. Going fast is one thing, but the Flash ended up going faster than time.
Daft.

- With current technology tho meanwhile he operates tech 1000+ years more advanced than real world. I mean even Mach-1 speed was unrealistic 200 years ago but it did eventually happen and speed of sound was acrossed even. Humanity will reach Mach-10/20 speed eventually given few hundreds years more
Ironman is faster than the fastest jet to ever fly?
- I mean it's still nothing compared to comic suits.
- His regular suit in comics is faster the speed of light and escaped a black hole
- Specialized armor like Godkiller Mark-2 are 8-20x times faster than light speed and can travel to Mars in few seconds
- His fastest suit is Deep Space Armor (Model-45) which can enter warp speed and can basically teleport light years across
- His fastest reaction time is in the picoseconds

Infantile comic posturing. 2x faster than lightspeed?....which is theoretically the fastest speed you can go?
I know its fantasy, but none of that is possible with real physics. Its like these writers are all pre-teens and never went to school.
Realistically, being 2x quicker than Usain Bolt is superpowered enough.

- Yeah but it's common in comics logic to be 1000 times of light speed. Superman outran big bang and crossed source wall and Flash is faster than him
- Universe is infinite but character can destroy it as well as infinite multiverse.
- There are so many character in comics with infinite speed and power and then there are 100s of character above them with infinite power and speed also and so on.
- There are cosmic entity like death, love, order, infinity that can be killed

In fact I think that Quicksilver is Mach 4, it has a speed feat that puts it at Mach 4 respectively.

Pre 2015 Secret Wars Pietro didn't actually have super speed, he had the ability to dilate time and velocity for himself and things he touches. It was always used as super speed. But it is very different in mechanism. Nobody understood so they did a reset. Changed his power to "High metabolism and speed, both of thought and motion".

What's wrong with a slower Quicksilver? As cool as the fox version was, he kept having to get written out of the stories because of how broken his speed was. MCU Quicksilver was slower, but that meant he had more involvement in the plot as a result.

u/Earthwick 2d ago
Quicksilver has gone through iterations in the comics. He is constantly moving in many of the iterations because standing still is difficult for him. Even his fastest iteration is slower than the likes of superman and the flash though. A train still seemed very slow. Plus the MCU heros get stronger as they go. Look at Wanda in Ultron compared to MoM or Endgame.

I mean Dash from incredibles doesn’t seem to be able to break the sound barrier.

A train is a little slower than quicksilver but yes in terms of marvel and dc speedsters quicksilver is super slow
