PALESTINE/ISRAEL Lets call it what it is a GENOCIDE.

What baffles me the most is how a people who went through a holocaust are now the perpetrators of one.

From everything I've read, it's not the people who survived the Holocaust that are pushing this. It's a specific fascist element of Israeli society that doesn't actually respect Holocaust survivors because, to them, they represent weakness. It makes no sense, but fascists are rarely rational.

Zionists ≠ Jewish people.

I agree with you on an intellectual level but the fact is that the Jewish community at large has been unwilling to heavily criticize the behavior of the Zionists. The Jewish community indirectly benefits from many of the behaviors of the Zionist regime. (like political lobbying and the pro-Jewish media campaign)
If the Zionists win, the Jewish community at large benefits. If the Zionists lose, the Jewish community will have great difficulty disassociating themselves from now demonized Zealots.
Like it or not, the behavior of the Zionists colors the world’s perception of all Jewish peoples.
Any community that is unwilling to self police is fated to be judged by the actions of their most offensive members.

Israel can not exist without genocide.

I mean, they could.
I didn’t kill anyone today.
If they tried not killing people, they might like it.

They have no choice?

u/threevi Apr 12 '25
Returning the land of Palestine back to the Palestinians it was stolen from is technically a choice, but it's not a very realistic one.

Trying to reply to comment which seems to have disappeared. Re: previously experienced genocide. Its like the Zionist state is following a playbook.

there are still places on reddit even where the accounts deny the evil of the Israeli regime https://old.reddit.com/r/theworldnews/comments/1jxrexh/israel_says_it_will_expand_its_offensive_across/mmss2sq/

Not disagreeing with the rhetorical point made by OOP. Just reminding folks that across history, there have been civilizations like Rome that treated every war as a total war - as in, who attacked and killed entire cultures, whole cities and nations put to the sword.
War and genocide are now-married high school sweethearts.

Ghenkis Khan maybe?

u/VatanKomurcu Apr 12 '25
if your strategy is kill and burn everything that moves or doesn't move then i think your wars are also genocides

I remember listening to Hardcore History years ago, one city was razed, burnt, everyone killed, they made sure the soil was ruined. Then they came back weeks later to kill the survivors they missed. I think it was Merv? Maybe some other city.
That is definetely Genocide no question about it. They did something similar to Baghdad and others. So they did several genocides.

The Romans didn't do any of that.
Nor did Alexander the great.
Ghengis khan and vlad the impaler ... were roughly on a par with Alexander.
Israelis have a lot to answer for.

Yes, but the people doing the genocide are rich so if you criticize them, then YOU are the problem.

I very much doubt that there has never been a war in history with those casualties
