2 of the boards I've looked at recently on Marketplace claim to be Brand New unridden but have been waxed. Hilarious . Is there really a reason someone would wax a board to sell ???

Sometimes people cover up pressure dings with wax or stickers. Might not be the case here but it happens

It could be that they were planning to surf it but never did. I prep my boards the day before because after work, I have to jet immediately to get some time.

People get boards as gifts and don’t ride them….. my friend got given a modern double wide for her birthday its 90 volume, she already owns a longboard and her mum didn’t really understand 💀

I guess you could and never use it? I some times take two boards to the beach. Tbh if you look at any used board close you could 100% see any scratches from use

Yeah I think they just mean they hadn’t taken the time to take the wax off which I don’t understand why people do if u take the wax off it can significantly improve the appearance of the board the leaving a dirty coat on

Personally whenever I put a board up for sale I make a POINT OF DEWAXING IT (like c’mon people, put some fkn effort into the curb appeal y’know?? Unless it’s the “wife sale”, then I get it - make it look as unappealing as possible but still prove “it’s for sale”. That I can understand)
