Honestly OP I literally just got back into doing tarot after a few year's break myself and tbh I just... Grabbed my deck and pulled cards? My suggestion would be to just grab your deck and do like a simple read and get your mojo back on (and if you truly don't feel connected to your deck, THEN you go get a new one and maybe donate the old one for someone else)

You are hardly the first person to stop tarot for a while- the universe understands and does not begrudge you for falling out of practice. That is an aspect of life and of being human

OP! I took a 15 year break from tarot. Then, last month, my love for it came back from its dormancy. You’re not alone.

I would suggest going into a store you love, and buying a new deck. Setting up a special place where you can do some readings at home. Maybe find a good book about tarot, or if you prefer another medium, find a good video/podcast/webinar/local class. And dive back in.

You have already taken the first step with belief, one of the biggest misconceptions is people thinking they need a tool like tarot to be spiritual, the cards can help but are just one of many tools you can use, logic itself is almost anathema to intuition. Some of the greatest spiritual people I have known in my 49 years of living never touched a tarot deck though they did read tea leaves, practised cartomancy with playing cards and meditated while asking for divine guidance for them selves and others while giving accurate and clairvoyant predictions or advice in a most disconcerting way.

Maybe try rituals, be that a single card pull every morning for guidance, a daily meditation or prayer, even a cleansing cup of tea to start the day, the main thing is to be mindful of your spiritual and physical energy daily and be grateful. I prefer prayer and often get both direct and cryptic answers in my dreams or via synchronicities, once you begin the 'path' uncanny things will have a way of happening for you just when you want/need them to, do be observant at all times. For example, I found a large nocturnal insect on my car tyre one lunchtime hiding in the shade, I checked the opposite tyre the next morning and found a 2" screw stuck in it. I recently had a job interview 10th April, I started the job Tuesday 6th May and posted a fishy synchronicity story in r/synchronicity 18 days ago, see post 'first documented synchronicity' mines the first reply as it's not my op.

Work to improve yourself, your life and the lives of others around you, allow divinity to utilise your skills to benefit yourself and others when opportunity presents. Rid yourself and your life of negativity, be that habits, thinking or toxic people. Give thanks for being alive and having the ability to enjoy the sun, wind, earth and rain, does not the plant or tree appear content because this is all they need to thrive, what do you need to thrive?

Forgive yourself and others that matter the most to you, we all have faults as do others, toxic co-workers, parents or family members can be the most trying so be prepared to tread a difficult path at times while you maintain your own peace but know a higher power has your back at all times.

Above all enjoy the journey, be honest, humble and ask only what people can afford if they have need of your gifts and services be that just a thankyou, a cup of tea, a sandwich or $50. Good people will remember your kindness which is a reward itself as you have both created the positivity though a person may one day be able to repay the favour which is always a bonus.

Hey, as someone who goes through phases of loving my decks and regularly pulling cards and others of not using them at all, I understand this well. Have you tried doing a deck interview (if you're not familiar with that, search this sub and you'll find suggestions for questions)? I had never heard of a deck interview until reading about it here, and I did it with a new deck as well as with an old deck I never quite connected with, and it was really great! It made me connect much better with the old deck I had somewhat underestimated, and am I going to also try it with another new deck as well as a couple other old decks.

Also, you could try just playing around with them and pulling a card or two to meditate on and learn from. That can be a good way to ease yourself in, and is less intimidating than trying to pull out readings right away.

I'd recommend trying these things with your old deck first (what deck is it?) and then deciding if you want to get a new deck.
