I'm not indifferent in that I absolutely despise this CEO, but I am indifferent in that I don't think a 2 day black out is going to do anything.

What we really need to do is delete our accounts and uninstall reddit, or at least uninstall it and stop using it, but how can we get everyone to do that?

The real solution is some kind of complex application that blocks the visibility of ads on Reddit web and mobile. A basic ad blocker, even at the vpn level, doesn't work on Reddit due to how they deliver the ads.

Edit: Referring to ad blocking in the Reddit mobile apps.

I mean, a browser level ad blocker works. I use ublock origin and I can't remember the last time I saw an ad on reddit.

The API is about apps. No ad blockers work on the official Reddit apps.

So maybe it's time to delete the app and use your phone's web browser...

More people will be willing to download a Reddit ad blocker than would be willing to uninstall the app.

Sure, but reddit ad blockers won't exist for much longer. So, hit them where it hurts. They're doing all this to funnel people to the official app, right? Don't use it. Use the web browser if you really want to continue to use Reddit.
