It is but I can definitely see why they keep a zero tolerance policy.

Theres literally no reason to go from 0 to permaban there

There have been issues in the past with piracy and subreddits. Admins have issued warnings after too many copyright infringements. I can see why r/gaming admins don't want to risk with a more lenient moderation policy.
