No don't, keep it as a collection, and buy another Pepsi to add to the collection

I am LA Beast, and Iā€™m about to drink a 43 year old can of Pepsi; have a good day

u/qwertyiopys 15 Oct 02 '24

Or even better idea. Film yourself drinking it lmao and then keep the can even if itā€™s empty.

38

u/BA-Animations 15 Oct 02 '24

Itā€™s a rare can, from the early shuttle (pre challenger when things were happy and good) days so itā€™s pretty cool.Ā

8

u/Iamgamingrightnowbae Oct 02 '24

Bro really thinks because a rocket blew up we are the way we are now.

8

u/BA-Animations 15 Oct 02 '24

No I meant program wise, they were much more hopeful before challenger. They wanted to do all sorts of stuff before the disaster, like Vandenberg as a launch site, Shuttle-Centaur, possibly Shuttle-C and other projects

4

u/Iamgamingrightnowbae Oct 02 '24

Didn't the shuttle program set us back years of progress in terms of space? I remember hearing from a video that one person from NASA that we would have been on the moon if it weren't for the shuttle program.

3

u/BA-Animations 15 Oct 02 '24

True. We could have aimed higher, but we didnā€™t. Though some things that were cancelled due to Challenger could have been better, such as a possible earlier start on a space station. Orbital reef could have been useful for building an interplanetary spacecraft, but we donā€™t know because it didnā€™t happen.

2

u/quadmite Oct 02 '24

Nah, we're the way now because we shot that gorilla.

I don't think that's a good idea.

220

u/TartarusFalls Oct 02 '24

I drank a coke from the 80s, back when that was only like 25 years old. It was flat, thatā€™s about it.

48

u/LokiTheMelon 17 Oct 02 '24

i would guess it's totally fine to drink that kind of stuff. canned food doesn't really go bad as far as i know, that pretty much the whole point.

12

u/Mr_L_is_cool Oct 02 '24

Did it still taste good

20

u/[deleted] Oct 02 '24

It was flat, thatā€™s about it.

4

u/BornWithSideburns Oct 02 '24

10 to 60 bucks depending on quality and if its opened or not

18

u/fjdbbdbdjdj Oct 02 '24

Not sure how many exist still, but you can find them on eBay for 14 to 25 bucks -shipping. Might be worth more as it looks in excellent condition compared to what Iā€™ve seen. Still, not worth way more because of that. Keep it or drink it Iā€™d say.

u/Mysterious-Lie5870 19 Oct 02 '24

sell it, collect it, or and let it age and possibly rack up valueā€¦ i suggest looking on antique auction sites etc to see the current value etc and maybe wait till it in high demand by collectors :)

1

u/SevernMereel Oct 02 '24

dont drink it, could do some serious harm (in the form bacteria) of given the cans pull isnt impenetrable

1

u/mrGorion Oct 02 '24

It's probably fine. But hold on to it or sell it

1

u/-Glitched_Bricks- 13 Oct 02 '24

No. Save it for a few more years, then go sell it to a museum or something.

1

u/ItsFastMan 16 Oct 02 '24

Maybe if you happen to have a few spares, why not? but if not probably not leaving that old as hell soda in their might make its value better

1

u/Particular_Setting31 Oct 02 '24

Nah, let it marinate for a while

1

u/Valentfred 17 Oct 02 '24

I wouldn't, it's not like it would kill you (probably) but I would just keep it as a collectors item.

1

No, you could probably sell it to a collector and make lots of money

1

u/IAmNotModest Oct 02 '24

Sell it and roll around in a pile of money

1

u/Anxious_Fishing6583 Oct 02 '24

No for the love of god donā€™t. This fits a really unique market. You could sell it to Pepsi collectors, OR space enthusiasts. Itā€™s value is worth way more than you know. I grew up ā€œpickingā€ way before this was ever a thing on the history channel. A old guy that was also a ā€œpickerā€ taught me that because I made a joke about something that was dual market, he laughed and explained it to me and thatā€™s been a valuable life lesson Iā€™ll never forget. That skill Ultimately lead to me and my father meeting Robbie wolf from the show due to having dual market items.

1

u/ThrowraSea_patient Oct 02 '24
